can't believe this ongoing series is more than 25 years old

I've literally never heard anyone talk about it ever, despite it seeming quite popular in japanese circles,
I'm actually on the road to hunt for more obscure manga in the west but classics in japan,

can some one recommend me more long running series with many volumes unknown in the west

@Monstrum I swear, its always the coolest stuff that doesn't get updated. That said, any story continuing since 1999 has me skeptical
