THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Wow, what a movie! Actually, all three movies in this pentalogy were great, I'm really glad I watched them. The OVAs on the other hand were rather weak (The Legend of Yuria and the Legend of Toki). This movie in particular (The Legend of Kenshiro) would actually be a great movie to start with if you have never seen anything Fist of the North Star related and are looking to get into the series since it is actually a prequel. |

Definitely the best compared to the last movies. The story was actually better than just being simple. That fat slave trader was a surprise of a good character lol. Damn Sisko looks like a toad lol. Kenshiro is too good hearted and naive. Sucks about his effort for saving them lol. Danne was pretty cute and I didn't want her to die. Kenshiro was hilarious. He picked up and used the enemies weapons for a while, which I've never seen before lol. Stop playing dude haha you don't need that much. |

Showing a Kenshiro sunken in despair after Shin betrayed him and abducted Yuria and how he became the draconian slayer for justice is a good concept, but I'm not particularly pleased with the execution. The prologue with Kenshiro and Yuria after Raoh's defeat was rather strange, too. Yuria is pregnant? Then what happened to the kid? In the beginning of Fist of the North Star 2 Ken's wandering around alone. Are we to assume the child didn't survive? |

Even though this wasn't in the original series, this is Hokuto no Ken at it's best, period. And by far the best out of all 5 of this remake movie/ova series. And I agree with the OP that this movie would make a great introduction for newcomers, before watching the tv series. |

I have a question guys. I watched a movie where Kenshiro was saved/kidnapped by a slave dealer, brought to a city, which was destroyed by the and of the movie. People were calling Kenshiro "wolf slayer" here. Is it Hokuto no Ken: Zero Kenshiro Den? Or did I watch something else? =) Sorry for being dumb ^^ |

Stop trying to fit everything into one timeline, previous movies have already made some alterations to the story sindarfrom said: I have a question guys. This was definitely the best movie out of all the others. I actually cared for the new characters and maybe it was just because of that, it was fresh and not something we have seen before because the other movies had a lot of reused footage from the tv series just with better animation. Great movie! |

What an awful movie; that last battle was short and lame as fuck, and the ending...it's a big example of what's a "fuck-you ending" is. Still; that "You were shcoked" song, I were shocked since I haven't heard it long time ago. The movie wasn't as shitty as the series so...3/10 for me. Now I'll watch Raoh Gaiden, I hope it's better than the main story; since the badass Raou is the fucking protagonist there! |

Idk why anyone would think this is a good movie. The story is super lame, the fights are nonexistent and the villain has no depth. Nothing is good. Not even ken could save this film. |

Nice to know that in the years after Raoh's defeat, Yulia and Kenshiro got married and even have a child Pretty great movie, nice to see that most characters weren't just evil for the sake of being evil but were forced to (hostages, family murdered). Still found it a bit pointless to see everyone killed at the end, it would have had meaning if they were killed while Kenshiro was still in the state of brokenhearted and then transitioning to becoming a saviour but they were killed after he regained his strength so... |

Definitely the best out of the pentalogy, but I guess that's what happens when you create a new story rather than cramming existing arcs down into an hour and a half. I think this also suffered a bit from the runtime and some bits feel a bit hmm, but I like what it did right enough to bump it up a point over the others. |

I saw the pentalogy without knowing anything about HnK except Omae wa mou shinderu and I really enjoyed it for the most part. The Yulia OVA was the weakest since it felt like the hour ova could have been done in half the time. 7/10 to all of them except Yulia which is a 5 imo. I might watch the classic anime someday. |

The finale of the Legend of the True Savior series! The fist of the North Star story is truly quite sad with a lot of good folks dying undeservedly young. The post-apocalyptic setting and the bleakness of the tale definitely help hammer in the point that this outcome is not a good one. Out of all the movies though, I have to say this one is definitely the most tragic. From the beginning with Yuria suffering from an illness to the end of the tale where Kenshiro is left the only survivor. If it wasn't for the post-credits scene skipping forward in time to when Kenshiro stood up and fought for justice again, it'd of been mostly a bummer. But all of that hardship only serves to power up that righteous feeling when Kenshiro's theme kicks in and he makes those bandits explode with his fists. Great film, sadder than I expected. Yet I'm still super glad I watched this movie series! |
