DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I recall intermittently watching this in elementary school, and I finally decided to try watching the entire thing although I remember many plot twists and even the ending lol but oh well. I still remember this episode very well, it's a nice start to the series. |

| That was a typical shounen start but was fun. Asakura is a very cool mc, but Manta is kinda annoying. |
| Was never a Shaman King og. Reading some of the manga and I am liking it. Anime seems very slow even for early 2000s standards. It will probably be that way for a while too. Just gonna watch every episode in the lead up to the 2021 version. |

| I recently learned that Shaman King is a thing, and I have to say: There is something special about this series that immediately convinced me that it is worthwhile. I cannot at all wait until April, so I decided that I am going to pass the time watching this. I am hooked beyond words, and I don't at all understand why. |
| I thought off watching shaman king(remake) cause it looks good so before it starts airing i decided to start shaman king(old) and it's really good the first epiode got mee hooked up the op is good. Manta is an annoying character for me, you is rather interesting |
| so in the end i gave up and i will watch it in dub, lol. nice start and all, love the setting and how shaman presented, it have it potential if it will go in the right way. don't know if i like morty though, feels like average character. yoh is nice. |
| goddamnit, a character like manta exists in this? i already know i'm gonna hate him, annoying asf... and he's not even of a human height... by the ending lines, i assume that manta will continue to be a main supporting character all throughout. sht. everything else seems good. |
