More Tensura is always nice and all, but this sure wasn't the strongest point of that anime. Hiiro getting tricked was weak and then they pulled not one, but double ressurection? On the other hand I loved Violet. Hopefully she joins harem Tempest at some point.

hmm, rimuru really taking his sweet time with everything in this movie, can't help but feel that he could've solved everything if he had even a little sense of urgency

Hiiro was fine but I wish he had a little brain.  Or it would've been more understandable if it was the medicine guy (whose reveal was pointless) rather than some random person who did everything.

The villains were so generic and pathetic that couldn't be taken seriously. The movie tried to make it look like there was a huge conflict with neighbor armies and war, but in the end just were like 4 random dudes and each of them were oneshotted in seconds.

completely skippable.

You know what, even though I was clearly bothered by how they decided to make Hiiro suddenly a baka and to believe that demon -which was obviously tricking him-  I managed to enjoy this movie in the end xD

By the way, dual res in the end xD I started to go "wtf?!" lol Good that none died just because of some random minion and baka Hiiro otherwise that would have probably affected my overall enjoyment.

cause Hiiro become baka does makes sense, cause when u care for some1 and want to save them ur desperate and ur brain cells go out of the window, have u not seen enough stories where some even do crazy sh themselves start to do twisted experiments just to find a way to save the one they care for, they basically become mini villain and others in hes situation fall to pray to ppl who want to use

Why tf would a queen sacrifice her life so save some servant she's only known for a short time? And why did Rimuru even played with that Lacua dude, he could've killed him in an instant. Anyway, if ufotable made this movie it would've been way better.

It was fine, but certainly predictable and at some points a bit boring - e.g. the whole sequence of Rimuru going after Lacua instead of just OHKOing the dude. Also, definitely not a fan of ending with a double fake out.

utter dogshit, main character never has any trouble and no one on this movie faces any hardships, sacrifices, or any real threat whatsoever. the animation was really good but unfortunately wasted on the most lukewarm and shit story just jerking off the mc ego for 2 hours while he does nothing. real victims and stories not shown and murder is justified after the slime lets innocent people become "evil" so he could kill them without breaking his morals.

Okay. Great animated sequences as well as solid enough storytelling for the first half of the movie... and then everything went downhill the moment Rimuru left Raja and Hiiro blindly trusted in that excuse of a villain named Lacua. Dude really decided to listen to the shadiest individual around smh.

And that ending with both Hiiro and Towa sacrificing themselves only to be resurrected one after the other within seconds couldn't have been more lame. Truly underwhelming stuff.

5/10 - Really appreciated the Diablo screen-time tho. Hoping for him to become more relevant in the upcoming arcs.

I still don't agree with what Rimuru did to Jura forest, and it pains me to see them having to clear forests for agriculture and city expansion. Can't Rimuru do a community like the Woodland Elves in LOTR who lived in the trees? What Rimuru introduced in that world is destruction. Agriculture will be the death of everyone as their population grows, and they need to clear more forests for farmlands to feed their ever-growing population. Constant growth cannot be sustained in a finite universe! That is what will happen to their world and what is happening in real life. In a world where magic exists, technology is unnecessary.

Hiiro's transformation looked badass! I like his fight against Benimaru. They had cool moves, especially when they started fighting with their fist. Hiiro wasn't a pushover, and he almost beat Benimaru.

Damn, that ending was unexpected but corny! They really didn't want either of them to die. I would've liked it if it was a bittersweet ending.
I'll give Violet a name and screw her a lot in return! Hehe

A solid movie. Good production quality.

Not really the best overall story arc though.

But it had a really strong atmospheric entrance.

Its exit was rushed and felt underwhelming. Almost distracting how fast it ran its time out.

If they had given it another hour of runtime.

It would've kept its initial slow pacing with the immersive environment that initially introduced the new characters. Set them up as relatable to the tried and true Oni/Ogre Village.

W/o necessarily needing to speed things up as the clock ticked down.

I still enjoyed it for what it was. It simply could have gained immensely. With very little sans a time bump.

This movie was great!
Love more content in general. Ogres are just so cool so I'm glad Hiiro lived although he's extremely stupid and basically didn't help the situation.

I think the best part was more Diablo. Only got a glimpse since he showed up right at the end of S2.

Quite an interesting movie.

Was cleaning my offline anime list and saw I had this movie listed, but then saw there was also OVAs that released in 2023.

Check both forums, and it seems that while when this movie happened, majority of ppls says the movie is not canon.

However after the OVAs happened, more people are now saying the movie may actually be canon due to the fact that some characters from this movie appeared in the OVA (even if it's only for a short time)

.

And yea, Violet could do what Rimuru could not in the curse thing. Tho I guess since the curse was from her, she have full control of the curse and can reverse it.

It's actually a good thing that Violet didn't turn out to be a massive bitch and actually follows her own rules. Also glad Diablo-bro was there, without him Rimuru would have a hard time in solving this.

The first half was pretty good, just your usual shenanigans. Second half was kinda meh though. I really wanted Diablo to at least show off a bit, but he just did... nothing. And then Hiiro died... and came back. And then Towa died... and came back. A completely unnecessary scene which was only made to move the viewer's feelings for two filler characters, who were never in real danger after all.

I was hoping for some kind of spinoff or something like this, but actually this movie is the direct continuation of Season 2.

While watching, felt like it was a big episode. There was no big production upgrades like fluid animation or better animation quality. At least, they used musics that felt like a feather in the scenes. The villain was weak and not well-developed.

But I need to list two important things in this movie:
- first: It expands even more the series world and lore, bringing new characters and showing more about the Primordial Demons
- second, and most important thing: Rimuru in human form almost all time!!! - Sorry, I know he is a slime, but his human form is so much better.

what a disappointing waste of time. the art was good but the story was extremely generic. and what the fuck was with hiiro dying, being saved by towa, dying, being revived by towa causing towa to die but then towa doesnt die as she is revived by violet. like please. what the fuck is that?
dont know how canon this is but honestly id recommend anyone and everyone to skip this movie no matter how much they like tensura

Finally got around to checking out this movie just in time for Season 3 to begin, and it was a pretty damn good movie, it was very entertaining for sure. But.. there were some things that bothered me lol. Let’s start with the first thing I didn’t like, being that Lacua was kinda random for a villain, I don’t even mind that he was kinda lame in terms of design, it’s just that he kinda appeared out of nowhere lol, I think it would have made more sense for him to be shown a bit beforehand, and there’s also the fact that the doctor ended up being a villain randomly too, which didn’t even matter because Rimuru’s broken ass pet dealt with him in 5 seconds lol. I also found the plot with the neighboring country invading being kinda out of nowhere as well, and it’s not that it even mattered much because we just saw a few scenes of Rimuru’s subordinates dealing with them, I guess it kinda worked in a way to involve everyone but I felt it needed a bit more focus.

But when I look at my issues with the movie, what I just said was the least of them, you could say they’re nitpicks in comparison lol. My biggest problem is that ending, it made me laugh at how dumb it was, and I absolutely knew they were gonna do it, it would have been more surprising if one of them actually died. I get this is Tensura and it’s not that dark, but I feel there was a better way to have a happy ending than a double sacrifice copout lol, this alone nearly made me drop my score to a 7 but when I thought about how much fun the movie was outside of this I kept the 8. And the last issue I had was that both insert songs in this movie felt out of place in both their scenes, I especially felt that way about the 2nd one over the “sacrifices”, it just helped in making it feel dumb imo, and the songs weren’t bad, it’s just I felt they were misused. However, they absolutely didn’t misuse the credits song as it played over the final scene, this could be my bias for MindaRyn but goddamn she kills it, I would love to hear her again in Season 3.

All that negative out of the way, like I said at the beginning this was a good movie, I liked the new characters Hiiro and Towa a lot, Towa is definitely a best girl contender for the series, I liked Violet as well although I think we could have gotten more of her. The movie also looked amazing visually with the fights, all of Hiiro’s fight scenes especially looked great, and of course you had Rimuru’s Moses scene lol. And lastly it was nice just being back in the world of Tensura, no matter how much beef I have with it, it is truly always a good time. I definitely look forward to Season 3, I just gotta hit those 3 episodes that came out last year now lol.

Well that was something to digest!

I didn't vibe with it as much as I thought I would but I did hold it to quite a high standard.
I think the game spoiled some parts of it for me and affected my overall view.
The game did end it early so, other than the interview with Violet discussing some elements of incarnation that the game also did, I managed to avoid spoiling most of the movie.

I watched it in dub and some of the conversations just didn't flow that well with some strange gaps and pauses, it also seems like something changed with the voices since the last season?
Following on I think the animation for some characters was a little different.
I guess it has been a while since the last season!

The main reason for writing this comment is, as expected, the ending battle:

Regardless it was entertaining and I'm looking forward to S3 now!

I didn't even realize this movie came out lol, I was just looking up stuff about season 3 when I came across this.

I know that the show is basically "how can we keep Rimuru distracted so that other characters can be useful", but the movie was particularly bad in this aspect.

Why'd they make the villain some fodder-tier nobody? If it's non-canon, they could've just invented a new character that's at least close to Demon Lord in terms of power so that there's still some actual tension. Instead we have to believe that either this fodder lackey can keep up in speed with Rimuru/Ranga while they're chasing him, or Rimuru just didn't give a shit and toyed around with him while knowing that Hiiro's going on a rampage. The whole story felt very low-stakes and it was hard to get invested in the conflict.

It's hard to write an engaging story when the main character is OP, and they definitely failed here. Rimuru comes off as especially dumb and lazy in this movie, not doing anything despite being able to resolve the entire conflict instantly.

But honestly, if you turn off your brain and just enjoy the ride it's still somehwat enjoyable. It was nice to see the characters again at least.

I thought the movie was decent. Going back to the ogre village and exploring another survivor of the orc disaster was a good choice in my book.

Hiiro and Towa had a great bond, and I also liked the lore reveal of Violet.

Diablo is still totally such a great ally for being able to defeat an ancient demon like her. Rimuru really doesn't know who he employs!

So at the end the bad guy Lacua saved both Hiiro and Towa because the 'goddess' Violet (I think she may have been a demon instead) found out he interfered and therefore voided the contract and gave Towa a freebie which was a good swerve I suppose.

While this was a good movie I think the main series is a bit better as this felt somewhat like filler although I understand the creator wrote the script for this. 7/10

That ending was hilarious, two fake deaths which were obvious and done in a way that didn't really have any emotional impact. Add the fact that this new guy is a complete moron, yeah couldn't care less. Towa was just there too the entire movie. The plot was dumb and the new characters meh, main villain was some random mob character too. Though what I liked about the movie is having more of Tensura and the characters I love. Like Shion for example and Shion for example or Shion too and ofc can't forget about Shion. That butt scene was lit.

I just recently finished watching Tensura season 3 and thought I'd check out the movie that I forgot to watch when it came out lol. Turns out it ain't all that great. Felt like watching some filler episodes. For me, the only interesting part was that short interaction between Diablo and Ultima. Even though the content of the movie is not in the light novel, supposedly it is considered as canon since the author himself wrote the story and the new characters even made an appearance on season 3 of the anime.

Anyway, another movie got announced. Hopefully, the new movie won't be an original filler content like this one. It would be amazing if they adapt some crucial part of the light novel into the movie instead. I wonder which one comes out first? Season 4 or the new movie?
