| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Quite an absurd chapter. But, when you think of it in an allegorical framework, I guess it could give you a question to think about. According to the youngest generation, her mom is a stupid woman who is defined by money and luxury. This is a proper worldview and way to live. But, is she really happy though? The youngest generation also thinks that her step-sister is a stupid woman who is clearly suffering. A woman who has had enough of luxury & beauty, for she is beautiful already. She simply doesn't fit in society. She clearly despises overtime. She'd rather find some extra money through a nasty job that can give her a kind of thrill. And then she spends the extra money for a silly pet that is surely "wild and thrilling". Kyoko Okazaki gave the usual reality check for anybody who's dreaming of living their wild sides though. Simply cut the water and electricity and *poof* no urban ladies (and gentlemen) could stand that. Like the little sister, I, too, love taking a cab, a bus, a train at night time. My mind somehow felt light and like she said, as if it yearned for somewhere far away like Mars. Is there really life on Mars, Mr. Bowie? |

| @butnotforme I definitely relate to her. Sometimes, my family members frustrate me. I fantasize about living on my own. I also liked having a job (that I quit because I'm in college now and I want to focus up), because I could just spend my money and not have to worry about answering to anyone. It's so frustrating that my mom gets to spend on bullshit, but when I ask her for money, she questions me. She can blow hundreds on clothes that she doesn't need, or spend $60 on food from a restaurant, when we're literally cooking dinner for the night. Though when we ask for a bit of money, she always asks "what are you going to buy?" I also find it dumb that my mom wastes money on dumb shit, when she could be more practical. Though at the same time, it isn't my money, so meh... I also recognize that I'm hypocritical because I used some of my money to buy skins in a video game. |
