Just finished watching the anime and I would give it a 6/10 but the last episode tells me that Roxy might be older than I thought. There’s a flashback scene that shows Roxy a bit older while Fate looks way way younger. He looked around 8 years old while Roxy looked like 14-16. Not sure if Fate wasn’t growing or he was malnourished. Probably malnourished.

^ yes, i was a bit confused as well. I thought it was roxy's mother that had helped him in the past. (but then i remembered that he didn't recognize her mother and neither did she.)

So, your conclusion is correct. He was definitely malnourished.(and Roxy might be 2 or three years older than him)

I don’t really trust fandom but it says Roxy is a year older than Fate

But in that scene she looked a bit older while Cate looked younger. He looked like he was around 8 years old. So it doesn’t make sense that she’s a a year older than Fate

The anime writing is not that grt, so i think the author just went with it.
And that's why i think we got all this mumbo jumbo

I started reading the light novels and that scene is a bonus chapter in the 1st one. She’s only a year older, and it says it multiple times. It’s because he was so malnourished it stunted his growth.

@BrotherDarius I see. Now it makes sense. I really feel bad for Fate. Can't believe being malnourished stunted his growth

makes sense though he went all the way from his village to the capital no food or money effectively homeless so it makes sense he so malnourished

Probably malnourished, he didnt have a great power to begin with so that explains alot.
