This one was really weird, but I enjoyed it. Feels like we're getting more into stuff now. Also, that's one hell of a PC. :D

Absolutely been loving this. Damn I wish I'd watched this long ago, but anyways already the best anime I've seen so far. Everyone is just weird except Lain's sister lol. I'm still confused how the concept of Syberia works? Like is it a place that acts an interface allowing to bridge the online and virtual world? I definitely think Lain's dad works for the organization behind this or knows much more than everyone else knows.

I will say the shift from the previous ep to this one felt a bit jarring from how much seemed to have changed. Lain's completely sunk in the rabbit hole of the Wired and her Navi, taking it apart and modifying the shit out of it with the Psyche after being a newbie to it all not too long ago was a lot to swallow, without any sense of time passing since the last episode it does make it a lot harder to gauge how fast Lain's fall was.
Lain's personality swap from her timid self in the earlier episodes compared to this episode was also quite a lot to take in, almost a complete 180 shift of tone was hard to digest. It really did feel surreal that her personality seemed to have flipped at a flip of a switch, but i have a feeling it's indefinity due with to the Wired's influence on her.

Was also interesting knowing more about the "Knights" that the Psyche are connected to. What's even more interesting is, whoever Lain's new outside informant is referred to them as less of a group of people, but an "idea" akin to that of a "religion spreading around the Wired" which is honestly crazy thinking about

I also thought Lain's father's words felt pretty important in this shows context, "You mustn't confuse it with the real world" cus even today it feels like people can take online social media way to seriously to the point that it leaks into real life. Lain's response also essentially being "the line between the Wired and reality is very blurred" i think also speaks how far in she's fallen.

And of course, the black suits outside Lain's house and Lain somehow causing a shockwave that blew on of their glasses apart like a new born mutant that just unlocked their powers from an X-man film, just raises so many new questions on top of the old ones.

Honestly that scene combined with this whole episode, i felt like was just the icing on the cake to what i feel like is just the tip of the iceberg for what's more to come from this show. Admittedly, some parts of the show do feel a bit too confusing at times, like i feel there are very little hints in scenes that give context to how they relate to the plot like the man being chased by the girl or guy stuck in the game world i can see some relations too, but others like "Lain" asking the guy in Cyberia the question only to reveal he was by himself felt so confusing, or how Lain is able to almost virtually be besides the man stuck in the game and chasing him.
I do still think this is an interesting show with a promising concept and it's still in it's cooking phase, so i'll stick around.

The fact that this show predicted so much in just this episode alone is outstanding
@znjsensej to think that it came out 25+ years ago is crazy. Japanese people were really onto something with Lain and Ghost in the Shell. (Matrix was also heavily influenced by GitS)

These Men in Black kinda remind me of hackers/viruses, in the way they try to find system' weaknesses or get inside. When Lain shouted, her PC even said "intruder interrupted" (maybe what they meant is "intrusion interrupted"?)

her room slightly goes crazy and she so on. Irritating, who are these fellas and why did world instantly changed, its appearance, it had "bloody stains" and now it looks normal, as it has to, may it be 'cause of Lain's The Wire addiction?

When I thought I was understanding the anime better, and they actually start explaining something, they throw us 100 more questions.

Well, Lain's personality is getting different, and it's clear she has become addicted to the Wired, probably because she can be a different person there. While last episode she only had a computer, now she has that computed attached to a bunch of different data bases, because she too now wants to become 1 with The Wired, just like the girl from the 1st episode that commited suicide.

We are also introduced to Phantoma, which is a multiplayer game, that with the new evolutions of The Wired, people can play it anywhere, not only in the PC. But it seems that that is leading people to make things in real life, because they think they will solve the problem in the virtual world too. Just like how that man shot that little girl, because he thought she was part of the game, when in reality, it seems someone messed with the code, and joined a kindergarden game with Phantoma, and the man actually killed a little girl. It's kinda weird though, because what was the little girl doing there, and the scene actually showed 3 corpses. This also explains why the man killed those 2 woman back in episode 2 and was terrified by Lain, since it seems she's the one behind this.

However, in the end of the episode we see that the Knights payed a visit to Lain, and it seems like they were in 2 different worlds, because when she screamed for them to leave her, it has some kind of barrier between them. I just don't know what is in each side of the barrier. Knights are described has some kind of religion, so this was her way of stoping them to influence her mind, maybe? Maybe they were trying to hack her? Maybe they are trying to make her stop making all those people killing themselves.

Also, is really Lain the one behind all of this? And why?

Lain's dad gave some advice that can still be applied today, to not mix the real world with the virtual world. It's kinda crazy how close to reality this anime actually is, even if it was released 27 years ago. But it's unexpected, coming from him. Also, what's up with him and Lain's mother, that scene between the 2 was off.

Honestly, I can't still really understand what's going on in this anime. It's really confusing, although things are coming together, with the information I have in this episode, I still can't understand half of the stuff from episode 1 (like when she was seeing her fingers smoke away, or that creepy woman getting hit by the train). I guess I'll have to continue on watching.
