About Reki's father, who only appears in the credits scenes. The director said in an interview that they kind of forgot about him. I tend to think she's understating things a bit (this is true of all staff interviews, though, since they're limited by censorship and the age of the main characters). Because Reki is a very well described boy who didn't get enough love from his father because he was constantly at work. Reki grew up in a predominantly female environment. But I think he's just a great guy, kind, responsible and loving. I love this character!

@JacobRules just masks of insecure teenagers in a homophobic traditional society. Langa also pines for Canada, with its temperate continental climate and decent toilets. What a great screenwriter Sk8 is! He managed to portray such a cunning and weak personality with big honest eyes that everyone willingly buys into his lies. And the sad, chivalrous guy who hides his problems so well behind a wide grin and buffoonery that everyone diagnoses his mask, not him. Great main characters turned out!

Tadashi blushing at called a "dog" was icky. Never liked the dynamics between him and Adam. Whatever floats their boat, I guess.
I honestly don't get the Renga ship, they just seem like friends. I'm putting my money on Cherryjoe

I'm afraid you would have lost your money. Renga is a canon couple with an unfriendly dynamic. Look at the fact that Reki constantly covers his groin in Langa's presence and tries very hard not to get too close to him.
