Hello, I've known about this anime since the first season premiered, but I never gave it a chance.

Now that the third season is approaching, I was thinking about watching it, but I see that in addition to the previous two seasons, it has several OVA and movies that I don't know what order they follow.

Could someone tell me what I have to watch and in what order? I don't know which order is correct, but I would like to follow the order of adaptation of the novels. I mean watching the anime in the same order as the novels readers (Although I don't even know if they have adapted all the volumes without skipping anything)

Thanks in advance ^^

When in doubt, follow alphabetical order.

Yes and no. Mahouka definitely works in release order, but imo it’s better in either chronological order or by arc (LN release) because the anime adaptation kinda fucked with the order

Chronologically:
- Reminiscence arc (special episode)
- Rettousei season 1
- Yuutousei season 1 (only if you really have nothing better to do)
- Visitor arc (Rettousei season 2)
- The girl who summons the stars (movie)

Might also wanna skip the last two episodes in season 2 as well if you want to save braincells. The first chapter of Double Seven arc (start of season 3) will have a similar story part anyway. But hopefully executed a hell of a lot better

Tbh, you can skip yuutosei.

Animation-wise it sucks and story-wise while it adds new content from Miyuki side, it's pretty much nothing important if you've watched the main series.

I out that "usually" there for a reason.
And wasn't Yottusei that spinoff nobody asked for?

Yeah, I’ll never for the life of me understand why anyone thought Yuutousei was a good idea. I just thought I’d put it in there because, ashamed as I am to admit it, I did watch the whole damn thing because I had nothing better to do at the time

Though I should add that episode 1 does actually bring something interesting to the table. Because I don’t remember Mayumi keeping an eye on the Shiba siblings as a result of the Bay Hills tower pyro attack being LN canon, but it is both interesting and perfectly within reason. Especially considering how the Saegusa family as a whole tends to keep a rather close eye on “interesting” magicians within Japanese territory. Hell, by the time Visitor arc happened they’d already put a surveillance team on Tatsuya. But the anime adaptation conveniently omitted that

@Franklr_D S1, S2, reminiscence movie, skip yuutosei & you can watch or not the girl who summon star movie after that.
I won't recomend watch reminiscence movie first before s1 & s2 because the beginning of the movie & the ending of the movie take place after s2, even though the main story of the movie is telling story before s1, so, just watch s1, s2, then reminiscence movie and assume the movie as flashback, you know you'll understand what i mean after watch it.
Lastly, the 1st movie is some sort of side story which is you can watch it or not, after that you'll ready for next season
