I have completed season 5 and its three movies and the most noticeable difference was animation quality. I was waiting for it to get better in upcoming seasons but it's the same. If the seasons were in animation quality like movies then it would have been a cherry on the cake. They have enough production for movies but not for seasons. I do not have any hope for animation to get better in season 6 and 7. I like MHA although its season 5 was not that great, overall it's a good anime but if its animation was better then it would have been a different story. Why don't they upgrade animation despite its popularity?

As per my thought, the Movies animation team is planning to prepare from the start. Or on average movies are 100 min long(about 5episode). So they have to focus on Action scenes.
Whereas Series Animations are planned only about 1 month from the Airing date and their work continues till the end of the episode.

Yeah.

A Movie generally have a better return on investments, so it may give investors confidence.
And if you think about it, if they invest the exact same budget, due to the runtime of a Movie being way much shorter than a full Season, the budget is virtually higher. The production of a Movie tends to also be healthier for all the parts involved.

Because the popularity declined a lot compared how it was years ago ?
It also depends on the staff involved, and their disponibilities.

Budget and time period. Also popularity matters very little as it barely ever means animators are paid more or given better conditions

I don't have a problem with the animation. the movies no doubt is better but not all animation in anime can be amazing. it is watchable unlike some of boruto

Me personally, I would like for there to be less mha movies and I would want more time and effort to be put on the anime itself.

movies are equal to 4-6 tv episodes only so they can allocate a lot of time for it to improve its animation quality

Because movies get higher budgets than series, it's as simple as that

Some long running shows tend to drop in production quality over time. Or the studio had more projects that year.

Yea but the second half was lacking compared to the first, I feel like the team struggles to spread out their talent, the first half of s5 and s6 are full of good animation, but the second half is way more conservative with it's animation, leaving lot of important moments of the story looking bland

what do you mean one of those? 25 episodes a year is way too much so ofc there won't be like amazing animation. but I think it’s smarter to spread out the quality over the season, make the first half look a bit worse for the second half to look a bit better, mainly with scenes that are important but get adapted as a bunch of stills cuz the good animators they had on hand were used for a small fight that doesn’t really matter. In an ideal world they would get more time. But they wanna push it out yearly
