Mia got dressed up for a ball party this episode.

You can tell how she plans her life with every detail but also trying to get the most of it. The dance itself was charming to watch, especially with teh magical-like aura and chereography. I think Mia herself wasn't fully prepared and flustered a bit. Still, I think this is the most elegant episode of the show so far.

I thoroughly enjoy the diverse ways they show the guillotine in this series.

The ball is upon Miss Mia, and Princess Mia's meticulous preparations have been flawless. Yet, a sudden mishap with her dress and makeup disrupts her carefully laid plans. Meanwhile, a noble unwittingly becomes ensnared in an imperial kidnapping scheme.

Admiring how Mia can express something straightforwardly, yet everyone else delves two or three layers deeper, like astute theorycrafters. Thanks to her memories from her past life, Mia comprehends the dynamics at play. Consequently, she takes it upon herself to address the issue and discusses it with Rafina. Surprisingly, the outcome surpasses her initial expectations, partly because of her newfound candidness about her experiences in prison.

Abel is best boy.

Tiona certainly is the target of some others the question is will those who wished malise upon her have learned from this incident.
And Abel seems to be pretty insecure but it's clear he is impressed Mia wether that will evolve into feelings for her is something for future episodes tho.
Sion on the other hand is confident and has the skill to back it up but there are some misunderstandings here but those might work in Mia's favour.
And Mia made a friend which is nice.

Honestly at first I didn't expect this anime to be this fun considering how dark the first episode is.

Mia sure has a talent for bringing back people from the abyss of despair. Anne really outdone herself with her choice of dress for Mia though. Abel finding his spark for wanting to improve himself was a nice thing to see. The dance at the ball really was impressively animated. Princess Rafina really has a pretty interesting personality that shows not just grace but also a degree of intimdation as well especially when she needs to get serious as shown in her little chat with Mia. A fearsome ally but also one that would ensure that what Mia does is always just.

There is a term common in the J-Novel Club forums when discussing this franchise (JNC is translating both the LN and Manga.)

Miaitis: This ailment expresses itself in fantastical misinterpretations of Mia's motives and intentions. Those afflicted with it become her most ardent fans and supporters. Princess Mia finds this baffling...but if it aids her in avoiding the Guillotine, she's not going to kick.
The Snarky Narrator is very aware of this ailment, and takes great joy in pointing out instances of it.

The thing is...while Mia's understanding of her motives contradicts the spin others place upon her actions, that doesn't change that her actions are admirable when observed without knowing her reasons for them.
And they do serve to inspire others to act in a manner supportive of her long term goals...both those imputed to her by others, and her true desire to avoid excessive and terminal neck pain.
This episode was an excellent example of this.

Mia ain't no freaking 'Champion of Justice.'
Mia just wants to keep her head upon her shoulders.
Her 'wisdom' boils down to "Take action to prevent being disliked enough that they'll freaking kill you!"; the odd thing is that this is wisdom, something far too many rulers in RL failed to keep in mind.

All of that aside, doesn't she have the most expressive face ever?
Mia expressions are a wonder and a delight.

This just my opinion

Maybe it can be concluded that in the previous timeline, Tiermoon's imperial servants tried to lock up Tiona without Mia's knowledge. Tiona's servant who ran away will meet Sion's servant Keith and finally, they conclude that this is all Mia's doing, because Mia also insulted Tiona in the previous scene. Ultimately, this is where the relationship between Tiona and Sion started the revolutionary movement in the empire.

It was from this scene that Rafinha-sama heard the scene and looked at Mia with a cynical look.

In the current story, because there is Anne who keeps Mia trusted, the future really changes

Iona, who tried to come to the ball in an ordinary dress, made Prince Sion see her and read a message from Keith that this had something to do with Mia as a plan from the princess of the empire.

In the previous timeline, Mia tried to show off that she was invited to dance with Sion, and Sion, without caring about Miia, immediately asked Tiona, who had just come from the tower. The letter from Keith made Sion think that Mia's invitation to dance was to buy time so that Tiona didn't get to dance.

Mia was just trying to dance, and because no one had asked her to dance before, even though Mia was very good at dancing, in the end she became a loner there.

Oh I forget to mention that Keithwood's kinda look similar to a general isekai-genre protagonist, if this anime is lead by male character instead of female, then he should be casted in that role.

Awesome episode! Loved the dancing animation during the Sion and Mia scenes. She may not have wanted there to be, but definitely some nice chemistry between the two of them lol.

Poor Abel, having to watch from the sidelines as Mia and Sion put on a masterclass, but at least she promised to help him with his dancing. Plus he’s the first guy to actually see her as a girl so he’s got an advantage.

As usual, Mia’s antics result in her looking like a benevolent genius in this episode. The ballroom dance went well and now she’s got three new allies.

Pacing was a little fast, but again you’re always gonna have that with LN adaptations. Make sure you read the LN if you want the full version.

There's always a ballroom dance in these kind of "princess" story shows. Quite enjoyable to watch with the comedy though.

Mia's actions are the moral equivalent of using the wrong equation but getting the right answer anyway lmaooooo.

Also this is the time I've seen CGI used for ballroom dancing. Usually, I'll see it for Idol dancing. It's a little jarring to see it flip from CGI to 2D, but it's not unwatchable. The 2D animations are really good 👍.

@Rifad That would make perfect sense if that were the case. I don't suppose we'll ever know though, Mia's knowledge of the past timeline is only what she herself experienced and wrote about after all.

I can't get enough of the convenient misunderstandings of this show and the facial expressions are always so funny, it has to be my favorite new show from this season and this season is packed with so many that cater to my taste.

and while people are bitching and crying about some odd frames in Jujutsu Kaisen animation and etc. I'm just glad that dance sequence in this show was so beautiful.

Wow, the ball dance between Princess Mia and Prince Sion was definitely the best highlight of this episode. It was beautifully animated.

But if you ask me, Anne is actually the real MVP here because her unselfish actions actually changed the course of history when she decided to help Tiona, which in turn made Mia look quite favorable. It's just the anime doesn't show this impact well compared to the manga.

I like seeing how the Princess' selfishness is being directed towards the right path, since she's scared of dying. A perfect motivation for someone as self centered as her. And the misunderstandings in this anime do not annoy me at all, surprisingly.

I loved this episode. One of my favorite aspects is how when some people talked badly of our “Wisdom of the Empire” others would stand up for her. We know she doesn’t have the best intentions, but people see her actions and gain belief that she isn’t a bad person. I find it cute 🥰

Mia-sama...
Mia-SAMA!!!

I just want to say that out loud.

To think even Kirito is here... lmao
Well played, Mia. You got yourself another admirer, without you knowing. lols

P.S. I forgot to say how lovely Mia is in her simple attire.

However, they made the zoomed-out part "CGI" which is kind of weird, but, the dancers form was splendid to the eyes.

I can't pick which one... Mia or Tiara...

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

I started this anime mainly out of boredom, not expecting anything special, but I am very surprised at how good it is. Episode 4 especially. The dance scene was lovely and I am so so in love with prince Abel and hope we get to see his and Mia's relationship develop. I am looking forward to the next episodes!

Wearing that much perfume? That didnt seem like a good plan she originally had. That can be suffocating. That white dress suited her well.

The 2D animation of the dancing was nicely done and the CGI shots werent too bad when kept for distance shots and partially camouflaged with the lighting effects but certainly noticeable

I love how this episode portrayed Tia becoming more humble, which was beautifully shown in her modest dress design just like she was willing to lower other's perception of her by lowering herself to Abel's level by leading him in dance.
This subtle development makes it clear, that Tia is actually becoming a better person and is not just pretending to avoid guillotine.
Definitely the Black Horse of the season, just like the other Sumire Uesaka loli anime, that is airing the same day.

On this week of SASUGA MIA-SAMA, Mia won over the 2nd Prince by just giving him dance lessons (and a confidence boost I guess) and also gaslight Princess Rafina into a more "learning experience"-type of punishments.

While also winning completely over Tiona and Prince Shion's bodyguard by doing nothing lmao

What’s disappointing so far is the complete omission of how her diary changes as she goes along and so far no matter what she does she still gets executed, albeit under slightly different circumstances.

I’m enjoying so far. The only thing I’ve genuinely hated about this series was the CGI during the dance scene. I don’t make a huge deal about CGI and I don’t think all CGI is bad, but Jesus that seemed to serve no purpose and it was absolutely horrid. Hopefully they don’t chose to use that again 🤣

Good episode, they managed to have a kidnapping and a dance going on simultaneously and they did it pretty well. The only thing I can really complain about in this episode is the CGI dancing, it just looked awful.
