Will this overtake the manga?

So I had ordered the manga before this anime aired yet it decided to arrive after they released the first two episodes, meaning it was already adapted.

theres 6 manga volumes at the moment, so do you think that they will have got past the manga when this season ends? How far beyond the manga do you think they would've adapted?

Source is LN, not manga. I'm unsure how much the manga had adapted, but anime will almost surely go up to volume 2 for LN, as the OP shows a character from that same volume.

Never waste your time reading the manga versions of light novels.

The light novel is superior in pretty much every way, and specially the fact that it’s way ahead of the manga release.

I know the source is LN, hence why I was asking if the anime will overtake the manga. I know most manga adaptions of LNs tend to be far behind the anime released for them

I don't think so, but I don't know how far the manga's gotten. I was thinking it'd end with that maid storyline and mask guy (to keep it spoiler free and because it's been a long time since I read it), but I guess with 20 minutes per episode they'll probably be able to make it past that. If they do I'm not sure how long it'd be before the next big arc though (because again, I read the LN maybe 3 years ago) so I'm not sure they'd be able to get a big climactic finale.

This. Bakemonogatari manga is an example of a weird LN->manga version, it basically changes the whole order halfway through.

Well, if you want to go for the manga, just judging by last chapter (35) it seems that it's early or halfway through volume 2.

I think this one is an exception which adapt both version and rely heavily on manga too. There's a lot of scene that was visualized literally just as how it drawn in the manga. Even the character design took the manga version instead of the LN.
