Things were going good and fine throughout the episode. At one point idk why I even thought that kazuya might actually be a good match for chizuru even though he's kazuya. It's like this season had some character development in him...... But then they show him booking her as a rental kanojo at the end and it's back to square one😭😭😭.
I mean how does one even come up with the thought of renting someone who's grandmother just died?! To what lengths will they go just for the story to keep on continuing

Kazuya himself belives that the only reason of why she was with him was because they were making a movie together, and that after the movie, they didn't had to be together again, and they also didn't needed to be together faking a relationship because there's no grandma anymore, wich makes him go back to the start, were they are just neighbors with no relation at all, and that he can't just go talk to her normally like he did while making the movie, as I said before, because he thinks that the movie was the only reason of why she spent time with him, and I honestly thought that it was a good scene, it shows how Kazuya doesn't believe in himself and how he doesn't believe that their relationship wasn't forced, and that he belives that everything came back to the beginning, only spending time with Chizuru renting her.

Yeah I just made a comment on the episode 9 topic and said that did Kazuya just pull a "it's rentin' time" at the end there? Plus with everything Kazuya has done and Chizuru still gives him the cold shoulder? I don't think there's been hardly any progress with them this season.

For me it sounded more like he rented someone else, because of that 'understanding womens heart' thing n stuff. I also first thought he is renting her, but couldn't it also be it's someone else and he just wants to get advice?

he actually rents her, to help her accept her grandmas passing. It is clear she is holding in all her feelings, which is quite painful.

The way I see it is that he’s renting her for the full purpose of support. There’s a lot of things that could be implied through Kazuya’s action.

It could be because he believes that renting Mizuhara would provide a sense of comfort to her; think about it, when Kazuya rents Mizuhara for the first time, he was experiencing a low position in his life, regarding the breakup with Mami. It’s making an full loop around to the beginning again, except it’s Kazuya supporting Mizuhara through her toughest moment. Almost as if he wants to give back to Mizuhara for being there for him. Of course, this is implied time and time again throughout the anime, but I think it’s especially crucial during this grim situation.

Friendly reminder, they author literally introduced a new major supporting character, who's entire purpose is to drag story forward and force some sort of character development on Kazuya.
Did it helped?
Well, as you pointed out Kazuya renting Chizuru about just shows how little their relationship developed, since he still has to rely on methods from the very beginning and by how he cannot approach her in any other way.
They STILL have absolutely no chemistry, nor relate to eachorher in any way, so Kazuya going to such lengths to help her feels out of place.

He's not a good match. A real man wouldn't dump money in her lap by renting her. But it's all MC can come up with.

I would much more enjoy Mami torturing him every episode until he goes insane or perishes.
