Damn, these latest episodes including this one has gotten more serious. No more fun and games.

Not going to lie, seeing her grandmother like that hurts. It just paints the reality that life is so fragile and Chizuru is not her usual self. This episode was just depressing and even Kazuya realizes it.

even though this season has felt really slow. these past few episodes were really jam packed full of new information and the emotions are starting to boil over. can't wait for the full season to be out.

Among all the shows this season, I never expected Rent a fucking Girlfriend to hit me so hard emotionally. That scene with Chizuru by Sayuri's bedside brought back vivid memories of my own grandfather's passing, and I couldn't help but well up.

The moment when Sayuri embraced Chizuru and professed her love is when I truly couldn't hold back the tears. It's a testament to the actresses' incredible skill at portraying emotions. I'm amazed at how Chizuru managed to maintain a smile and deceive Kazuya, despite the recent heartbreak.

Its sad that their sortie to see the film ended up this direly. RIP Granny Sayuri. But in the end at least they were able to have one last heart to heart before her passing. Still things must be real tough for Chizuru now.

Can’t believe how good this show has got, I’m literally crying over a kanokari episode never thought I’d see the day 😭 Sayuri Obaa-chan rest in peace.

27 eps of being a meme and then these last few are just so damn good and compelling. Chizuru’s final moments with her grandmother were so gut wrenching. “I don’t know what to do anymore” 😢 just broke my heart.

Said last week that it should be Chizuru’s decision as to whether or not she wants to be honest about she and Kazuya relationship and ultimately she decided to just enjoy the last few moments she had with her grandmother. I feel like deep down her grandma probably already knew the truth anyway or had some idea. Either way, actresses are supposed to make lies a reality so I think it’s thematically consistent with the story. Even if it’s a lie now, the idea is that she and Kazuya will eventually be legit.

Speaking of Kazuya, brilliant idea to go grab the projector and play the film. Even if only for a moment, Sayuri obaa-chan did get to see her granddaughter fulfil her dream as an actress. Very good quick thinking by Kazuya. Again showcasing how reliable he’s become of late.

As of today I can say I not only no longer hate Chizuru, but that I really like her. It took 30 eps but it finally clicked with me during that wonderful performance by Amamiya Sora. Phenomenal job of conveying the emotion and gravity of that moment. Definitely appreciate Chizuru’s personality, her work ethic and character a lot more because of this season. The reasons Kazuya likes her are no longer shallow and generic to me.

I still have Mami top, but Chizuru is good as well now 👍

Not gonna lie, almost teared up to Rent A Girlfriend of all things, Granny Sayuri seeing the movie, and saying her final words to Chizuru was really nicely executed. However, didn't really like the quick tonal shift back to the comedy, felt like that could have waited till next episode, but it is what it is. Still a decent episode.

Now we have the proof that the writing can be good. It is sad to see that it will become stupid again, i hope they make atleast more progress in their relationship now.

I don't think there's any sadder moment than losing a loved one! If I lost anyone in my family, I sure would be devastated! Chizuru may look strong, but no amount of strength can hiding ones true self😔. At least her grandma got to see at least a portion of Chizuru's movie before she left. "I love you" is the best last words you could hear, even when someone dies.

That was probably one of my favourite episodes for rent a girlfriend. The scene with chizuru and sayuri I was actually spoiled on a few months ago but I didn’t expect it to hit this hard.

I haven’t cried that much since I watched the last episode of sound euphonium season 1. Or watching the last few episodes of plastic w memories.

I’ll keep saying this but rent a girlfriend is hella underrated. It’s not as bad as people say it is.

Very heavy episode, it felt like a completely different show honestly, and I have to admit that I did tear up a bit during Mizuhara’s final moment with her grandma, it was a great and very sad scene. I’m glad she at least got to see a bit of the movie too, Kazuya is a real one for doing that, and then even stayed at the hospital the whole time too. Only disappointing thing tho is that Mizuhara has chosen to bottle everything up like she usually does, kinda hurt to see after all that just happened but I’m hoping in the last few episodes we’ll see her open up.

And Kazuya’s grandma ended up taking the wake well, kinda sad the way she said that she’ll see her soon anyway but definitely not the reaction I was expecting, and man it also hurts to see Kazuya distancing himself from Mizuhara since he’s just her “neighbor”, bro you made a movie for her and you’re a lot closer than just neighbors, but I also get why he’d still see it that way. It appeared at the end he booked another rental girlfriend date, definitely looking forward to how that’s gonna go and what the final stretch of the season is gonna be like.

And lastly, it just occurred to me Mami has not been in this season at all lol, been missing her honestly, I wonder if we’ll see her at all before the seasons ends.

I thought that Chizuru's grandma was going to pull through but alas she did not. At least Chizuru got to spent the last moments with her before she passed, and heard part of Chizuru's movie.

Regarding Chizuru's reaction to Kazuya, I think she pulled a fake grin on him so that he could leave her alone which shows that she still doesn't see Kazuya more than a friend/neighbor. Lastly, did Kazuya really go "it's rentin' time" at the end there with the booking? Ok then.

Sometimes when you see someone be incredibly strong so much so that they won't let any sadness or weakness show you cant help but cry for them. In that instance where they won't themselves because they're showing a brave face. I had to cry for Chizuru this episode since she wouldn't let anyone see her crying. Only right as Sayuri passed did Chizuru let out any of the pain she's feeling. I'm glad that Sayuri could see Chizuru film right before the end. It didn't seem like she did but it's wonderful they could share that final moment. Chizuru nearly telling her grandma about the big lie but she didn't at the last second. Sayuri being ok with things either way, expressing her love for Chizuru one final time. I'm with Mini in bawling my eyes out because now Chizuru is truly all alone, she has no family left at all. Even at the wake Chizuru stood there stoically welcoming every attendee and thanking them. Kazuya grandma even commenting on how strong Chizuru is being able to do that. Kazuya must do something to cheer her up, but with how Chizuru refuted his helping hand even right after Sayuri passed it's tough to think of a way to actually help. What could you possibly do for someone in that much pain.

Easily the best, most emotional, and interesting episode of Rent a Girlfriend ever. The entire first half of this episode was nothing but fantastic, everything down to its animation, voice acting, music, story, pacing, all of it was spectacular.

I never thought a show of this caliber would be able to pull off a scene like this, with such great direction. Although this show started off as a dumpster fire, and still sort of is, there are a few gems here and there that genuinely cannot be overlooked.

This episode had the most emotional weight in the series thus far, and I think it handled it gracefully. We all knew Mizuhara's grandma wasn't going to last, and it's been building for three seasons. Good on Kazuya for ignoring Mizuhara and bringing the film to have her grandma watch, or at least listen. If he hadn't, Chizuru's dream wouldn't have come true.

Overall, a very emotional episode that was handled well. Now the question is, what will Kazuya do to help Mizuhara who is clearly hurting but doesn't want to show it.

I definitely prefer this anime when it doesn't take itself too seriously. That said, I liked the fact that we didn't get the predictable path where Chizuru's grandma watches the movie and then dies. With her gone before the première, the story takes a more interesting twist regarding her relationship with Kazuya... wait, is he renting her now? Oh my, he always finds the way to exceed my expectations.

Good ending, including, once again, the ballad version of the song.

I gotta admit that this episode had me on the verge of tears; I’m glad that Mizuhara and Sayuri managed to share one last moment before passing. It really shows how much pressure Mizuhara was carrying and the way she caves in to it in the hospital ward is heartbreaking.
The tonal shift afterward might not have been necessary, good episode regardless.

Didn't really hit as hard as it should have, probably a little dragged out for my liking. And then next scene, it was straight to that younger neighbor bawling her eyes, comedic relief style, it was so bad to watch.

rip obachan. at least she died knowing her granddaughter will be able to live even without her support. and we again have chizuru's fake smile and saying that she's 'okay'. honestly it's kinda pissing me off now. that smile she gave right after coming outta the room to kazuya when asked if she's okay pissed me off so good. like there are still people who care about her but she just wants no help. i will give her some leniency as she surely wasn't in the best mood and probably just wanted to be left alone.

i wonder what kazuya is planning to do after booking her. is she even accepting bookings tho?

anyway i hope that chizuru is able to realise that she's got kazuya now. he can be her pillar of support. she surely must have realised that she thinks of him as more than just a neighbour or friend, maybe not in a romantic sense but i feel like she can rely on him more especially after he's proven that he is reliable, i mean orchestrating the making of a whole damn movie is no mean feat. this can be a very good time for chizuru to get a little bit closer to kazuya.

also i hope chizuru is able to drop her act at least in front of kazuya that would be nice. he was the only one who was present with her when things went south. he was also the one who made her dream come true. man at least deserves her genuineness if not love.

kazuya acted really mature during the whole ordeal as well. great to see. looking forward to next episode. only 3 more left and it's not even confirmed if we will get another season :(

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.

@Rasco yeah it was boring as hell. i want to know if the girl falls in love or not but not someone dying. this season is going nowhere probably end up on a cliffhanger no wonder the ratings are trash every season getting worse by a rating of 1 from 9 to 8 to 7.
