| Did anyone else fall in love with Akane? I just love her big green eyes, her cheerfulness, her caring nature (like when she ran home to get the curry), and just seeing her fall in love like that was so endearing. The way she was affected by getting dumped also showed her vulnerable, yet beautiful side. Love how she greets people, welcoming, gentle and warm. Also loved her sense of style and the clothes she wore and all the ways she's done her hair. When I first posted this, I originally wanted to include some screenshots and discuss each aspect in detail. But I was worried of fouling the forum rules due to my inexperience. So I didn't want to invest too much time only to get the post taken down. I'll try slowly adding some screenshots, maybe one day at a time and hopefully everything goes well? Mods please let me know if this is a problem, as it is some effort to upload and link all the images and it will be a shame to waste that time. My favourite look for Akane is in the school festival scenes. She is wearing a very cute jumper with little bows near the top and her hair is done up in a very pretty way (looks like a halo braid maybe). This brings out her beautiful green eyes, and the light plays just perfectly on her face. Her smile and her eyes project kindness and warmth:  There are several major facets in the exposition for Akane. Among them, vulnerable (in the opening episodes, recovering from being dumped), cute (often related to her in-game facet), nurturing and caring, and in-love (probably the best one). On the cute side, there is a touching scene where Yamada is feeling down after Tsubaki's confession and Akane tries to cheer him up by drawing her game character on his hand. There is a humorous line where Akane ignores Yamada's question if the pen is oil based, and repeats "give me your hand" twice in a very funny way (the voice acting for her is so good). The drawn character is very cute and embodies Akane's cute (and more child-like) side perfectly, while this also shows that just like Yamada, she is also very kind and caring:  When Yamada tells Akane he loved the curry she gave him, her face lights up as she takes it as a compliment from the usually-surly Yamada, but also as a sign that they are getting closer. This makes her look particularly beautiful, as seeing someone in love or falling in love is wonderful to behold. In Your Lie in April, Watari says to Kousei: "It's only natural for the girl you're crushing on to be in love with someone else. Since you're in love with her, she sparkles in your eyes.". Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.  |
