Finished the 16 Episodes yesterday and I’m confused. It feels like the first and the second half were different. The first half was like dark and maybe magical and the second part is something else. Also entertaining, but I prefer the first part.

Can you explain the difference? Is this just some anime stuff while the manga is still dark?

Yeah, it does switch tone a lot more in the second half, half of it is goofy comedy stuff. I guess that's to give us a positive outlook on Aiyou after casting so much suspicion on her in the first part?
