| This is for everyone looking to jump into the Raven of the Inner Palace Novels after finishing the anime. No spoilers. TL;DR: The anime covers all of volume 1 and 2. Read Novels 3-7 for new material or read Novels 1-7 for any missed or summarized content. Note: This information was found after I finished the anime, looked into the wiki and the publishers Japanese/English release dates. Novel series is complete at 7 volumes. There is no manga adaptation, but the novels have some illustrations in manga style in the previews. The anime covers all of volume 1 and 2. Read Novels 3-7 for new material or read Novels 1-7 for any missed or summarized content. The anime's episode names and novel's chapter (case) names provide the most obvious clues. Here are the Anime Episode Names: The Jade Earring, Part 1 The Jade Earring, Part 2 The Whistle The Skylark Princess Confidant The Summer King and the Winter King Glass Prayer Blue Swallow Water's Voice The Masked Man Groundwork Siblings Xiangfu Incense (Soufukou) And here are the Novel Case names for Volumes 1-3: Volume 1: The Jade Earring The Flower Whistle The Skylark Princess The Glass Prayer Volume 2: The Blue Swallow The Water's Voice The Masked Man The Sweetheart Incense (Soufukou) (Anime Season 1 Ends Here) Volume 3: The Rainy Night's Visit (Start of Content set after the first anime season) The Turtle King The Hand Pulling the Sleeve The Sunset Orb More detailed summaries can be found on the wiki entries, but I would recommend waiting for the English releases to finish. English Release Dates for the Novels are listed below. Volume 1 Early Digital Release Date: 2023/01/05 (January 5th, 2023) Volume 1 Paperback Release Date: 2023/02/14 (February 14th, 2023) Volume 2 Paperback Release Date: 2023/06/06 (June 6th, 2023) Volume 3 Paperback Release Date: September 26th, 2023 Volume 4 Paperback Release Date: December 19th, 2023 Volume 5 Paperback Release Date: April 2nd, 2024 Volume 6 Paperback Release Date: July 2nd, 2024 Volume 7 (Final Volume) Paperback Release Date: October. 15th, 2024 That's everything I researched. | 2 Volumes. I just included the volume 3 chapter names to prove they weren't covered. Start from Volume 3 if you want new material. And you're welcome. It's nice when a novel series has a complete wiki and is finished. Doesn't make tracking down info as difficult as some other series can be. |

| Is there an unofficial translation available anywhere or do we have to wait for the official one? It’s a bit of a shame if that’s the case, I love to binge watch / read stuff like this. |

The official translation will release Volume 3 on September 26th, 2023 anyway with volume 4 set for December 19th, 2023. Personally I would wait for official, because some translations used the Chinese spelling of character names and some used the Japanese spelling. For the main character, her Chinese name is Shouxue and in Japanese it's Jusetsu. | @kkbbw12 Hey. Thanks for the reply. I just checked Amazon, and it has releases dates for the final 2 volumes (Volume 6 and 7). I've edited the Post and added them to my reply below. Volume 6 Paperback Release Date: July 2nd, 2024 Volume 7 (Final Volume) Paperback Release Date: October. 15th, 2024 And true to form, it says that Volume 6 Digital will be out 5 days earlier on June 27 2024. Not sure which version you are collecting, but you have both options available. Enjoy the reads. Volume 7 is the last. And not sure if you're tried it, but Apothecary Diaries gave me similar vibes to Raven of the Inner Palace (mystery solving in countries based on Ancient China). Highly recommended. Season 1 of the anime covered Novels 1-2. Season 2 of the anime will be out in 2025 and will probably cover novels 3 or 3-4. Digital Light Novel English releases are up to volume 11 out of 15. Print Light Novel English Releases only have 1 so far with release dates available for Volumes 2, 3 and 4. Specifically that will be: Volume 2- August 6th, 2024, Volume 3- November 5th, 2024, and Volume 4- February 4th, 2025. Hope that information helps. Enjoy the reading. |
