How much bleach do I need to watch to catch up?

Never watched bleach, but I was interested in watching this. Obviously the big problem for me is that there are a lot of episodes so I am wondering how many are needed to fully enjoy this show. I am assuming you don't need to watch all of the episodes, since there are probably a lot of fillers I would guess.

All Canon episodes.
This Season is adapting the Final Arc , which builded-up on everything before.
If you can't handle long story , you should just avoid it.

Watch the anime until the end of the soul society arc and then pick up the manga from there.

Soul Society is great in the anime but then after that the pacing gets fucked.

Among 366 episodes 203 episodes are canon. Now if you can't watch 203, you should avoid watching this.

All of Cannon but the filler is really good especially the zanpakuto rebellion arc. I watched all of it filler included and found it enjoyable. Better filler than Naruto for sure!

It’s a great watch so don’t rush it!

Just skip the filler and it goes by pretty quick, id recommend watching it all, skipping filler and u can probably cut out a few battles in the Karakura town arc and ur good

Bleach has one of the best ost unfortunately the adaptation isn't good. Studio spend all of their money on Naruto.

i would say the thing with anime fights I noticed is, you gotta know who is who. you watch two guys throw down in a amv, that slaps and it looks pretty but it doesn't do much else beside being pretty if you don't know the dudes, their struggles, their story and what this fight means to them. and then that sh really hits. I'm saying this in accordance with your statement of wanting to appreciate the show the most. if that is your goal, and this comes from a person who's seen all of bleach cannon episodes and a big chunk of filler as well - watch only the cannon and miss the filler without regrets my guy. that all being said, and I was just having this convo with a buddy of mine earlier this evening, I would even go as far to say if you don't wanna do that rn you might as well just jump right into this new season because it's a lot of fun and it does catch you up to speed real quick with what's been happening. it's not my primary advice to do that but it might not be that bad. it's not like you jump in the middle of some shit scratching your head like "who's larry now?? and is this his mom or cousin.." you know what I mean, it's not that deep, it's a fighting show at the end of the day. but, to be perfectly honest I think Bleach is peak shonen and through all cannon episodes it all runs smooth and tight and I'd say you'd be missing out on an amazing show that is now in my top 10 easily but hey, you be the judge. maybe try this: see the first episode and see how you like it. I got hooked first episode of Bleach I couldn't stop watching it, it just scratched that itch for me as it did with a whole lot of people

For best Bleach experience read the Manga till the TYBW arc. Don't watch the anime if you can read the manga. The pacing is trash, censorship is at peak, too much cut content and unnecessary fillers. Only good thing was the OST by Shiro Sagisu.

I am caught up I decided to watch the anime, but at higher speed 1.5x. 2x for the last arc as I found that one the most boring tbh. Pretty excited to watch this after seeing the trailers. Skipped the filler episodes also.

Personally, you should just watch from episode 1 until Soul Society arc, which is episode 63. That arc is what cements Bleach as one of the top 3 long standing anime series and it is the peak of Bleach. After that, *yikes* the decline is gradual and heartbreaking.... You can pretty much skip everything else after episode 63 and head straight into TBYW , because there's not much character development apart from power scaling/creep from there on and you can understand pretty much 90% of the recent season of Bleach.
