Is it just me or other manga readers also think

So I just started reading this and the first thought came to my mind after seeing Yamada was she isn't the Yamada ik cuz I saw the anime first and the Yamada in manga looks very different from the Yamada in anime(at least in the first chapter).
So I just went and took a look on later chapters and found that Yamada in anime looks like new art of Yamada

Yes at the beginning she wasn't super sure of the art style and then in a click she changed it and was so much better

Yes, the anime took the artsyle of the later chapters. Great choice imo

I noticed that as well. Was worried at first, but subsequent volumes had art that matched the anime. The earlier art is still cute, but I would say it definitely has improved. Absolutely love the manga and anime.

I saw a guy comment saying Yamada looked like komi and a person replied that he can't unsee it now but I don't think she look like komi tho hairstyle wise they sure matches

This, it's called art evolution, it happens even the popular mangas.

@Demonaman293 You should see Takagi-san manga first chapter, way too different than the later chapter.

yea, it's similar to Komi-san in the beginning of the manga VS Komi in the anime/ current komi

its the job of the anime character designer to redesign characters that will look good and work well when animated. I think this is common. yamada is very squishy in the manga, and the anime style went with a more cool and aesthetically pleasing design, since there wasn't going to be a ton of money to pay for lots of cute animation

Wait ultil volume 3 and she looks the same than the anime, female attributes included although i remember some websites saying that they were bigger in the anime...probably they just had read the first volume like you.

nah the new design and art style in the manga is better than the old one, that also the reason why I love this adaptation because it's use the new art style for the anime
