In Episode Nine Theres this scene where Ryo looks up something in the Bible after Akira has run angrily out of his Appartement.
Over the door behind Ryo there is the number 666 written, which is the number of the devil. I think the rest explains itself.

I noticed it on my rewatch. There's plenty of foreshadowing moments in the show, either through dialogue or through visuals.
