Glad to see Mint being able to open herself more to her friends. They even got a pillow fight!

Quiche is still causing trouble as usual. However, I'm glad to see Mint finding her confidence and saving Ichigo when she needed the most. Quite proud of her!

After Zakuro's rejection, Mint sure is hit hard, but not letting adversity hit her maintains her stance that's no better than holding a facade.

So, it's going directly to Mint's place to cheer her up, and this is the case for Ichigo, Lettuce and Bu-Ling. And for a rich place like this, Mint's family is loaded, and her brother Seiji is a gentleman of his words, and the girls really have a good time to treat Mint like a child.

But of course, Kish is here to make trouble by transforming Mint's dog Mickey into a Chimera Anima, and Mint held her conviction strong.

The problem now left: to convince Zakuro to be a Mew Mew, or be targeted by Kish.

Okay, after last weeks eps trying to figure who the bad guy is and assuming its love intrest who fitted her with a bell, im updating my predicition to mints brother. From battle to exiting battle to walking around corner. Got to be him. Although im not hedging any bets because it could be the weird alien guys and there weird thing which follows the mew mews around sucking up aliens (I can only assume it gains in power).

But, overall, I liked some mint introspective and character play this episode.

Mew Mew!

Mint is definitely my favorite character in the show and hopefully the show keeps growing her as a character and getting over her personal struggle.

Considering how high paced the show is and how they've cut content from the original to save time I'm impressed that they've added a brother for Minto. It does make the visit to her house a bit more realistic since they never showed her family and it kinda seemed like she lived by herself in a ghost mansion hahaha

Just like before there are loads of shots that are just animated versions of the panels from the manga, which makes me super nostalgic~

I definitely enjoyed the slower pace of this episode even though I have greatly enjoyed all the episodes so far, taking time to sit down and just talk was very needed.
I also love that they even expanded on Minto's character, she feels much more real here than in the manga!

The snippet we got of Retasu's transformation looked beautiful and I REALLY wanna see the full sequence. Hype for the next episode~!
The 2002 Tokyo Mew Mew adaptation is not as great as you remember it being.

Poor Mint! She’s never been rejected before so no wonder she’s in quite a shock. It was nice of the girls to try and cheer her up, all it took was a pillow fight and Bu Ling being Bu Ling lol. I’m glad Mint’s surrounded by good people. Seiji is a good brother, Mint’s lucky to have him around.

Just when things were going so well, Kish the sexpest shows up and whammies Mickey! Glad the girls were able to get Mint out of her funk so she could save everyone. The power of friendship is truly incredible lol.

Looks like Zakuro the lone wolf is gonna be in a pinch. She’ll have to rely on the girls for help I’m sure. Guessing she’ll be joining the team in the next episode.

If things follow the first adaptation, Zakuro'll join the others soon.

The point that still bothers me is reboot 52 eps in a cour?

highly doubt it. Either we get split cour adaptations or we just stop at season 1

That was nice to get more development regarding Mint's life goal and how she feels in her family (basically being treated like a kid so she admired Zakuro for her determination and independence) also wow she's REALLY rich xD Kish is very annoying though attacking and using Mint's dog for that, now he'll focus Zakuro so the group has to stop and protect her, I guess that's also how Zakuro will finally accept to join them.

Mint working hard and serving customers in the cafe, now that's weird coming from her which is weird coming from me...this is weird.

Aside from meeting Seiji, nothing much development happened here, though they did have a nice pillow fight. Still gotta convince Zakuro though.

Of course, there is more point in "settling down", whatsoever. It's, however, easy and kinda half-assed. In a way that shows her reasons not to cooperate from the beginning are no better (? question mark + the crap about lone wolves --- "LONE" wolf is almost an idiomatic expression, wolves band together in packs)

Squeezing my memory I'll probably remember a couple of episodes where one of them get the spot and solve things more or less on their own. In fact, Ichigo's paraphernalia is the usual way of terminating aliens, but last episode, for example, made Mint this kind of exception. I'm talking because it happened now and then, with all of them. Fujiwara is no different.

I'm truly still shocked over the newest episode. I watched all of Tokyo Mew Mew when I was still in that elementary school age, so after waiting for the reboot I'm so excited.

I absolutely adore Mint's extra character development; even after 52 episodes of the original series I never really liked her. But I don't want to repeat the positives everyone has already said, so let me ask you.

Did anyone else notice Kisshu's character absolutely changed? I might just be biased since he's my favorite but he lost that goofy and carefree demeanor. I guess since obviously he's been newly introduced, but still it's hard to wrap my head around him being *an actual villain* if that makes sense.

The cute pet names and rhyming, his silly lil comments a d flirtatious moments are gone. He's actually being taken serious as an antagonist, and clearly doing a good job considering their reactions are more of a surprised/angry vs an annoyed/tired remark over his sudden appearance and antics.

At least the cast has been aged up; Kisshu acting like this if Ichigo was still canonically a 13 year old middle schooler would make me very uncomfy. I'm not condoning his behavior just because she's older but still the new Kisshu really threw me off guard.

TLDL; The newest episode was great in terms of Mint's character development, however I focused more on Kisshu's behavior and am still trying to emotionally recover from his sudden seriousness within the show as an antagonist

i actully liked how they changed kisshu a bit. it not a bad thing he is more sireous. how ever i glad they still kept his possesive personality towards ichigo from the original.

It was a little bit weird that they couldn't save Ichigo faster because of Mint's dog. I mean they all know that they're not gonna harm it when they use their powers on it, so why hold themselves back.
Besides, all of the guys in this anime need serious therapy like tf it's up with the way they act/talk, Ichigo it's not a cat, she's a person, and what about all the sexual assault :v, also I don't think Ryou sees Ichigo as a person either, theyr're all f-ed up :vvv. But it's ok I'll continue watching, this is my childhood anime after all, maybe that explains why I'm also a lil bit f-ed up lol.

The series is a solid 4 out of 5 by now imo :) Every episode is cozy and enjoyable, I love the new designs and visual expressions, and it balances the retro vibes well with the updated graphic style. Very nice! Probably not going to be very memorable, but definitely something I look forward to watching every time.

I like this episode better than the last few. It's nice getting to see the girls bond over a pillow-fight and I like the personal stakes introduced with Mickey being transformed into a Chimer Anima. Not having Zakuro join the team the literal next episode is also a plus.

Quiche though is a little weird. Maybe I'm misremembering the original, but I don't seem to be along in remembering him there as more playful whereas here he comes off as an actual sexual predator with how he grabbed Ichigo like that. I guess they're targeting the rape fantasy demographic? Certainly wouldn't be the first time I've suspected this series has tried appealing to fetishists lmao

Ikr this episode would have been way shorter if Mint had just shot the arrow the first time she had the chance to.

I came here to complain about the same. However, it's not all that black-and-white after careful consideration. At this point, the girls don't know much about how aliens work. Further, the rescued animals do get tired or unconscious. It is also unclear if this damage is related to the original strength or size of the animal. To sum up, a fragile Mickey could have gotten hurt for all we know.

We learn just how rich Mint is and we meet her older brother, Seiji. Kish is a total creep, and Zakuro has to join the team, she has no other choice, the others will just keep hounding her.
