Rather than an action packed episode, they went one with more emotional appeal.

I think this works as the show had plenty of storybuilding up to this finale. It's also the aftermath of this massive war that has been brewing. Arshem jumping down from the sky like an angel and meeting Yamato is a highlight of this episode for me. This was destined to happen.

as expected Yamato got resurrected by those higher alien beings called Elzed and they say Yamato is like them that he can use this power called Shift guess we will never know what kind of power is that unless we play the sequel video game

but i guess the power of the Shift is about Yamato being adaptability genius and we know adaptation is link with evolution the main theme of this show

Arshem x Yamato happened in the end though im glad

very cool mecha anime at least they can totally make an anime sequel if they profit enough but an open ending like this is not bad too

Would even like a third season.

It has great character design just expected from LV5 but I prefer a more childish story like Danball Senki. At least LV5 will focus on Inazuma Eleven from now on.

PS I spot a continuity error, sometimes Adam wear tight black shirt, sometimes he's just shirtless.

it Feels too rushed. They skipped a lot of things and a some people like Ryuu and some others. And left some stuff at a cliff hanger...

Honestly, I rate this anime higher because a big mecha nerd got enough money to fund his own anime, his way and he made it happen. This anime happened in spite of production companies and streaming services not really fucking with the vision. The anime was a passion project through and through and it's love for mecha imo should touch anyone who grew up wishing they could pilot a giant robot.

The story had some high points too. But mostly this anime (both seasons) had way too many characters and not enough time to tell the story the exact way they wanted to tell it. It hit all the broad strokes but you could drive a semi truck through the plot holes and gaps in this anime's story. Perhaps all that stuff is in the game but I don't live in Japan and definitely can't understand Japanese.

Also the early mecha designs were incredibly ugly and also probably super expensive to animate. I could only ever recommend this anime to a people obsessed with mecha anime. Which I guess is fine because that's who this anime exists for. So for me this anime altogether is an 8 out of 10. With heavy, HEAVY bias as a mecha anime fan.

Yo this has to be said. Arshem is selfish on a level I haven't seen in quite some time. She isn't just a figurehead leader. She is the literal power source for the Dractor's. It's not like they can just figure it out without her. All those people died and she basically told their ghosts to kick rocks. I guess the story will continue with more games and probably novels.

But I know one thing. Level 5 is never putting crazy money into producing a Megaton Musashi anime sequel ever again. So what we get is what we get.

At last, we've come to the finale and every character goes their way. There are some loose ends so there is potential for a sequel as long as the video game sells but as it stands, I consider this to be the end.

All in all, I'm conflicted on my stand about the series. On the one hand we have the giant robot battles in a 3D animation rendering that not only looks decent and fluid, they are the highlight of the show in order to advertise its non-gacha tie in game. The storyline certainly is complicated and develops nicely... at the start at least. I get the sensation they were aiming for more episode with how the pacing in the middle got way too fast for any regular development and the result was the feeling something was cut short. Kojiro's existence is the mere proof of it as well as some of the 2D animated scenes which look quite rough.

Nonetheless, the opening sequence, the songs, the characters, the twists and the finales itself all make up for a net positive to me (even if Yamato was suddenly resurrected with little consequence).

Mecha anime have dropped a lot in quality these days. The story was okay but with the typical peace, pacifism, love bullshit. I usually don't care about this stuff but the fact that the dracters wiped out 99% of humanity in an indiscriminate genocide and brutally violated their planet's core while the remaining population live in a make-believe world and are implanted with fake memories because of their severe PTSD is all put aside so easily was beyond ridiculous. Why? Because some dracter princess wants to peacefully co-exist with human and make amends of their "mistake" and the humans were like "sure why not?" because it's better than killing the aliens to avenge the billions they killed and reclaim the planet that they destroyed ecologically. Like really? I honestly wanted to see some divine retribution on the invaders but then I realized that this is a Japanese anime so only peace, forgiving and co-existence matters.

The characters were boring with little to no development aside from the goody two shoes dracter princess while some characters were literally forgotten or sidelined like Kanzaki. The only thing writers really put effort in is hooking them up. Still I like the 3d mecha fight which were interesting with different types of powers and everything. The cliffhanger ending was stupid. But then again I didn't like story much nor do I plan to play the game.

I am glad Yamato was not dead and he got to meet Arshem again. That was a great scene. The game comes out on Steam this month on 24th. Can not wait to play it on PC and love the mechas.
