haven't heard anything but i doubt they will, feel like it would be very difficult with the show being japanese rock focused, they would be speaking english then just start randomly singing in Japanese, the only way it would work would be if they re recorded the songs in English which would be horrible because English and Japanese are completely different and singing the lyrics in english would ruin the pace of the song unless the changed the lyrcis entirely which i wouldnt enjoy

I watched it subbed, but I hope a dub comes soon so my friend who's partially blind and can't watch subs gets to experience it too

I don't think that should be a problem. Plenty of music anime have been dubbed while the songs remained Japanese. Plus if you think about it, there are a lot of bilingual bands in real life that will talk to the audience in one language then sing in another, so it wouldn't really be that weird 🙂

i guess you're right, im not super familiar with a lot of music anime so i was just speaking from assumtion (speking out my ass), would like to see a dub tho maybe get more people to watch it

I have to disagree with you here, the music won’t really be a stumbling block for making a dub. They could always do what K-On did with their dubs and keep only the music in Japanese while dining the dialogue. It’s not a train smash

i havent watched many dubbed musical anime so i will conceed that i could be wrong about this, was speaking on my assumtion of how it would sound instead of experience watching it, if you and others dont think it would clash ill take your word for it as you have watched more dubbed musical anime than i have, thank you for your response

It could also make it more enjoyable, too. There are many shows with great Japanese voice casts that have dubs I like a lot better. Kaguya’s dub is a great example in my opinion, I think it totally elevates the comedy

I'm gonna have to disagree with you partially. the Kaguya dub is great in its own right, but I don't think it's applicable to say it elevated the comedy, given a huge chunk of that comedy comes from the delivery, which was changed in the dub. the narrator, for example, seems to very much be in on the joke alongside the audience in the dub, frequently making sarcastic 'wink and nod' remarks at the expense of the characters, whereas in the original Japanese the narrator is treating all the ridiculous bullshit Kaguya and shirogane get up to as though it's an intense sporting event.
all this to say, an English dub is neutral by default, and can be better or worse or even just different depending on its execution

bro have you watch any anime with a dub that involves any singing they almost never change the language just like you can enjoy the song in the sub even though it's obviously not the va singing in most anime

it's been said by many but, the dubbing of songs in English will not be an issue. Every music anime I've seen like love live, k-on, zombie land saga just leaves the songs in Japanese which is just fine. In fact I can't really think of any shows where they dub songs.

It's rare, but it does happen. The songs for season 1 of Zombie Land Saga actually were dubbed.

I honestly feel getting Bocchi dubbed in English is very complicated considering the names are Japanese puns, at least from what I heard.
