| I just rewatched both seasons, and I have to say, the story flows WAY better when you watch it back to back. specially when it comes to the climax of season 1. which felt like complete nonsense when I watched it as it was airing. |

Long breaks will just make you forget about shit. but this one specially. as I said, when I watched season 1, the fact that kate suddenly knew all the secrets without explanation, felt like a massive mistake, that stopped me from enjoying the arc. but knowing that wasn't true, made me enjoy it a lot more. if you check the comments on those episodes, I assure you that many other people feel the same, even though with the context of s2, the first season's climax is actually kinda great. |

Well I was talking about a different aspect of the disadvantage of waiting for new seasons, but you’re obviously right. It’s like watching a detective story and the season ends right when the detective reveals the culprit, but their reasoning and the way they discovered it will be shown in the next season that will take at least 1 year to come. I get what you’re saying, that’s why I simply like what Netflix does when releasing all episodes of an anime at once. Ppl say it kills the hype, but imo me waiting 2 years for an explanation is much more of a turn off than just that. It works the same way with all mystery/thriller anime, hence you many ppl find anime like this one, better when you can binge the full material. |

I think "binge" vs "weekly" purely depends on the show. if the netflix higher ups were smart, they would pick and choose depending on the series. jojo which is their biggest mistake, can be very episodic from part 3 onward, it works much better weekly. but a slow burner mystery like shadows house, has a massive advantage when binged since you actually benefit from remembering everything. |

No I think you have misunderstood what I was talking about. I didn’t mean batch releases. I said all episodes at once. Like for example, Cyberpunk Edgerunners. It was all released in one day. They also usually release anime classified as ONA all in one day, which is great. About delayed shows, I’d rather watch a show 3 months after it’s supposed to air if I can watch the entirety of it. Also not really. Multiple ppl here have made threads about “Entirety of anime in one day vs weekly release” to which the public opinion here goes like “I want to discuss it with other ppl online” “having all episodes at once loses the hype since we can’t really talk about it after watching the whole show in the same way when can when watching it weekly” “we want to be able to discus what will happen in the next episodes” and more like that. You don’t need to wait for the Netflix anime to end so you can watch it, if you simply Pirate it. I do feel for ppl who don’t do that shit though. As for Jojo, I still don’t understand why ppl complained about it. Just think of it as part 1 part 2 and part 3. Or season 1/2/3 and that’s it. I never understood why ppl where so mad about it coming in batches and with long breaks in between, when we literally have anime that take 3-10 years break for another season. Just literally treat it like another season and that’s it. Ppl here just want to discuss them weekly, but I don’t really give a shit about all of that. I want all episodes in one day. Anyways, as I said in the beginning, I was talking about anime like Cyberpunk whom all of their episodes are released in one day and many other anime like that. I saw you mentioning Jojo case etc and I wanted to give my opinion on them anyway. |
