Red Swan, the ugly duckling of the AOT openings

This sounds really cheesy but I like to think that "Red Swan" is the "ugly duckling" of the AOT OPs. It was criticised for being different to the other OPs on initial release. But as time passes the song matured into something beautiful (like a swan), and more people accepted it as part of AOT's music.

I'm glad i searched for the meaning of "ugly duckling" word.
and yes it's really good, it's my favourite op of AOT.

Oh, I tought I was the only one. I only recently started enjoying listening to Red Swan. I liked all the other OP's from the start or after a few listens.

I do remember people hating on 'My War' when it was new, but for the rest all OP's seem to be pretty well received.

I still dont like it and probably never will. For me it just doesnt sound like AoT opening but some highschool drama and gives me strange vibes

it was like my 2nd fvrt opening of aot i think.. also i loved the scene where eren is standing and his childhood memories flashing before his eyes and the fallen angel part of the song comes in.. goosebumps

Yeah, this song is just beautiful. It feels so nostalgic, like it symbolizes the good times ending. I think people criticized it a lot because it came directly after shinzo wa sasageyo

The feeling was just totaly different from other openings, but it fit the season. If I dislike any AOT op it would be the one from season 3 part 2, felt like a mess and the visuals were so spoiler ridden for the part. I actualy even have Red Swan on my playlist.

Yeah I love Red Swan so much. Gets me emotional everytime. My War and Rumbling are still my top 2 tho.

Is it bad I love all Aot equally, until it comes to Guren no Yumiya, imo its the best. But music is subjective to some degree and shit

All, and I mean ALL of the AOT openings are 10/10. They do have different themes for sure though, where most of them sound like they are preparing for war or like starting a war or in the war, whereas RedSwan and Under the Tree has that emotions in it where it just makes your eyes tear up

The song's so good that I have made 2 AMVs with Your Lie in April, one at the very beginning of my AMV journey and one a few months ago (The latter even appeared on Bentovid RICE AMV contest, it wasn't nominated though)

yes red Swan might not be the best aot opening, but defo not the worst. From the first time I heard the song, I was like, different, but good different.
