If what I understand is true and this film is non-cannon, why did the film writers go so far as to make plot armor with absurd justification only for characters who are unclear whether or not they will appear later in the main story?  Not maximizing potential while there is an opportunity, in my opinion, is wasted potentials.

'The new film features a completely original plot that hasn't been seen in the anime or manga. But the story is written by “Fuse,” the author of the original story, so this isn't some non-canon spinoff.'
So it's not a non canon but a original story by Fuse the author of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

I think fuse will add this as a side story in the main series at some point

yeah their calling it Canon and its written by fuse but I'm willing to bet the characters will never talk about the events of this movie in the anime ever again and the new characters we met (except violet) will most likely never show up again so is it really Canon I feel like a Canon movie should be something u have to watch to understand the plot in the series going forward but you could totally skip this movie and be fine

It’s canon in the same way that the last episode of season 1 (Shizu and Diablo backstory) was canon. Both are anime original, but both were written by the original author and are considered canon.

No idea what you're talking about. Main villain was lame, loved everything else about the movie. i wouldnt be surprised if we saw the princess and Hiiro again, but I doubt they'll play a major part.

You're wrong about Violet. actually Diablo recruits violet as one of the followers of rimuru, then rimuru names her.
So violet is a very important character.

Yes, I would love to see them again. The thing is, I didn't really like the way they came up with the plot-armor for the princess and Hiiro. I don't really have a problem with plot armor as long as it still understandable but this time it completely ruined the atmosphere that had been built for me.

What exactly do you mean by plot armor? If its about Hiiro still recognizing the princess even in his berserk state, yea, I agree it would be better if it didn't have that, but that's stereotypical when it comes to anime and bonds.

Honestly, I don't mind with that part. What I'm talking about is the one moment at the end of the movie when Hiiro slowly turns to stone and then Raphael says to Rimuru that he couldn't be saved because it was the effect of the curse but was saved anyway because of Towa's Tiara. And then it happened again when Towa was revived by Violet even though Raphael had said that she couldn't be saved earlier. It's weird it happened twice. Or maybe it's just me overreacting.

I’m pretty sure it is non canon. We’ll have to wait and see where the next season picks up but there is no mention of this new kingdom that I have seen yet in the light novels so if the show follows those then either it’s non canon or maybe they just never talk to Hiiro and Towa again which just seems awkward.

It would’ve been fine if Hiiro didn’t have such a strong connection with the ogres. If they never speak to him again or have Towa at a council of Tempest’s allies then it feels like maybe that stuff never happened as far as the story is concerned.

Maybe some minor mentions

When the team don't put too much effort in a movie then people complain about how they ignored it just because it was some new character and it's not quite sure if they will appear later or not.

And when they put their best efforts to make something really good even though it's currently is not directly connected to the story then you will have people like this.

All people can do is hate and complain. Theses people neither can do something on their nor can just move on if they didn't like something.

Truly one of the most pathetic ones among the humans.

Oh okay, I get what you means. I am pathetic. I just wanted to start a thread about something back then. But just in case i want to make it clear what i wanted to discuss; i don't really hate the movie. The movie is pretty good. The thing i'm concerned is that why did they keep Towa and Hiiro around? Why don't they just make them die in an anticlimatic way as the plot moved were seemed to be set to make it happened like that, in the way i see it. Wouldn't it'd be a bothersome to keep them around if they literally a nonexistence in the original source that's the light novel that the anime are adapted from? They seems to be choosing to go the hard ways.

I didn't specifically call you pathetic. I was just pissed off about some people who just want to hate and can't move on from something that they didn't like.

But dude I have to agree you took those words of mine with a good sporting spirit. Every other person just normally start to cuss me, call me names and try to talk about my personal life like they know anything. They can't just seem to response to what I asked. But you were someone who were genuinely curious about it I guess. My bad bro. if those words of mine ruined your mood or day anyhow then I'm sorry.

And as for the anime, that's how this one is. I'm guessing you have seen the anime and read the manga. It's one of those wholesome power fantasy where the MC is so overpowered that he can't let his friends die. And I really like that. Because if you will loose a character every now and then in arcs then you will just feel less less the more you will loose them. You will be like "Whatever, maybe he will die in the next fight. Let's not get too attached with this character". But when you will seriously loose one then it will create so much impact that even after stories and arcs you will still remember that character for example take ONE Piece[if you know you know]. And how do you know Towa and Hiiro are not important character. Hiiro just reunited with is family that he thought was dead. And the same goes for Benimaru and others. So it will be kind of an ass move to kill him just after introducing. And the connection between Jura tempest and Rani kingdom can become a very important thing in the upcoming story. The light novel isn't over. Maybe we will see some Hiiro action who will fight for Rimuru.

And I normally don't talk about anime in the posts but I decided to talk in this one because it's my favourite isekai anime. that's all. You seemed like a nice guy. Thank you for not being toxic.

No, it did not. Infact, it made me curious how some people may percieve me when i started the discussion thread back then. Did people goes like " oh yeah, it's that one ungrateful person who's everydays task is only to complain about something that they had a bit of unsatisfiedness about it" or maybe they goes like "yeah, not this bait thread again. i'm fed up with it.". It's a bit hard things to do when i decided to start a discussion thread while considering these possible outcome of me looking like an ass.

Yeah, that kind of makes sense. I guess they will create an original arc or modified the original storyline to stuff Hiiro ins. When i think about it, it's kind of the similiar case with the OVA; The Kingdom of Ingrassia's Freedom Academy's annual outdoor training, where some of the notable interactions in the OVA between Rimuru and the teacher of class A were mentioned on the start of the season 2.
Thank you for your willingness to discuss with me. I hope you have a great days.
