What a nice finale, although I would have preferred the whole episode be about Jun and Tomo as a couple I did still enjoy the fight with Tomo’s dad and the resulting kiss scene, that was really phenomenal. The date in the first half was really cute too, Tomo and Jun in boyfriend and girlfriend mode was a true delight, and the scene in Jun’s bedroom was hilarious with that shuttle launch visual lol. And man that final scene after the credits where the main cast took a pic together, put a big smile on my face, such a nice gang.

What a fantastic romcom this was, really really enjoyed it. There really was no low point, it was a rollercoaster of fun the entire time which was really helped by great characters, Tomo and Jun were always so fun to watch whether they were competing or having a romantic moment together, and the supporting characters were awesome as well, I was especially a fan of Gundou, I’d say she’s also my best girl lol. Early on everyone loved Gundou seemed like but then Carol won over a lot of people, but nah I stayed on the Gundou train lol, she had some of the best moments in the show and some really good development, she also reminds me of Saki from Fruits Basket so that also won her some points lol. And I also want to mention how awesome Rie Takahashi’s performance for Tomo was, she absolutely nailed it.

And what a great OP and ED, both were such jams, very nice songs and the visuals fit them like a glove. I’m really gonna miss this one, I’d love another season or an OVA but this ended kinda perfectly so I don’t know if there’s a chance of those or not lol, perhaps a spin-off where Gundou gets her romance? Maybe? Probably not but I can dream lol. This was definitely one of my favorites from Winter 2023, hopefully Spring 2023 can grace us with awesome romcoms as well!

Wasn't sure where they would go from episode 12, but this one delivered. A great cap off to a great series. I'll join the many other voices here praising the characters; a lot of these types of shows fall into the trap of devolving the side characters to the point where their sole existence is to stalk the main couple; recently this ruined Uzaki-chan for me. Sometimes these shows will go the other way, and focus on the side characters to the detriment of the main couple ala Horimiya. This one managed to strike a decent balance IMO where the side characters got development without it overshadowing Tomo and Jun. My favorite Anime of the winter 2023 season. 8/10.

It's not uncommon for shows to save up all their budget and effort on the last episode.

A romcom that stands out among lots of formulaic stories. The sinergies between characters were unique. 8/10 well deserved.

I liked Tomo-Chan! Those kinda slide of life anime are hit or miss for me, but this was a major hit! I will say the characters were kinda mid, though. Misuzu was possibly the most useless character. Komi can't Communicate had a better supporting cast, I feel. Still, this was done very well and was very easy to watch!! Definite recommend. I was happy how it ended!

Oh what a wild ride this show has been. I've always been so torn apart between loving and hating this. The start was diffrent than I expected but still good with the comedy. The middle pa was somewhat awful and weird. The end turned things around once again and actually showed some well-written serious parts as well.

Now, for the good points:
- Misuzu is just brilliant. Although Mitsuha overtook her for my character of the season, I still think she is brilliant. Relatable, funny and perfectly balanced between her "evil" and "best friend" sides. Her story was the true gem of this show, both the comedic and serious parts.
I must say, I feared the show would ride on the "generic romcom rules" so hard she would be put up with Tanabe, but gladly, it didn't and instead, gave her the much needed "You don't need a lover if you have friends" ending. Tanabe works well as a comedic relief but nothing more, just like Ogawa and Mifune - you like them as such, but don't want them in the drama parts.
- Tomo and Carol deserve praise as well. I wish the show would've just been about those three in a friendship gag humor style (like Asobi Asobase and The Little Lies We All Tell). Their chemsitry is as great as the hillarious situations they find themselves in.
- The main romance of Jun and Tomo also ended very well. They realized they can be both best friends and lovers at the same time. In the end, I do root for them - they can both learn a lot from each other and have regained their friendship.

For the bad points:
- Jun was a character I hated for most of the show. He was inconsistent and there was just too little insight into him. At first, him not seeing Tomo as a girl but treating her like one seemed perverted even. Then there was this whole thing of him obviously being into Tomo, but then there was a scene that was supposed to make him realize? That was weird, but in the last two episodes he finally got proper characterization. Late, but better than nothing.
- Carol and Kousuke were squeezed in. Their episode felt out of place and - due to a lack of necessary development - I'll always remember them as the "(Semi-)Incest Couple". They should've made them childhood friends and gave Kou some actual development first. He felt bland even at the very end and him loving Carol felt out of place, because there was no hint. On the contrary - the show made sure he would see her as a sister with the incest part.
- The romantic comedy (as opposed to the friendship comedy) was mostly stereotypical and made me uncomfortable. Many transitions between comedy and serious style were wacky and wasted a lot of potential.

I'm still torn apart, but the majority of the show was decent. Thinking back makes me remember the good friendship comedy more than the bad parts. Misuzu carries this to a 6/10 for me.

A very good way to close the series, a final statement as it should be, a kiss scene and everyone happy, this is how all romcoms should end xd

I loved that Jun's final challenge was a fight against Tomo's father, he fought until the end and succeeded, a real crack; I also liked that despite finally being a couple, Jun and Tomo will not stop being and acting like before, 10/10.

A love letter to the romcom 🚬

Damn who the hell was saying that manga ending was going to be disappointing??? It got a solid conclusion

It has to be one of those rare romance animes which get their conclusion in a single cour and it used it's theme upto the mark where I can say that it is a solid A Tier show

Coming back to the last episode, it kinda reminds me of "Bollywood styled" romance movies where a lead male has to defeat the father of female lead character XD! And he actually pulls it off, although no complaints about that after all he was putting his efforts in his training since very long so I won't say if it was a plot armour, the confession was really worth it and the conclusion made my heart pleased

However, there is always something you feel lacking even after these good conclusions & for me one of that thing is going to be Misuzu's conclusion
I thought she is going to hit well with that guy who was being shown to us earlier, also being the catalyst of this whole show, she also deserved her own happy ending so -1 for that, well atleast she got her friends if nothing more

The comedy was definitely not the strongest part of this show but sometimes it seemed missing as well especially after first 2-3 episodes when it became repetitive & lost its charm but that was made up by the drama in the later part

Rating: 8/10

Every anime season has a few surprises for me, and this show definitely qualifies. I had never heard of the manga, but it quickly became a show I was looking forward to every week. One seasons seems about right: a nice complete story based on a premise that managed to not overstay its welcome. Wholesome, funny, charming, and overall well-executed. This definitely feels like a series I will rewatch at some point in the future.

Aaaaaaand, comfy wholesome tomboy anime is over... Well, as a certified tomboy appreciator, I enjoyed this! I haven't read the manga so I don't know about the stuff that was skipped, but I wholeheartedly found this SOL both cute and funny! It'll probably live rent free in my mind for years to come.

pretty sure misuzu knew what would happen in the movie and which is exactly why she suggested that ahaha.

they kissed!!!!!!!!!! yaaay. got the happy ending they deserved. a nice point to stop the anime. i wonder if this will get a season 2. the possibility is pretty slime and this felt fairly conclusive.

9/10.

so i didn't like the fight part. just seemed so...dumb. but i enjoyed the other stuff (movie, getting food, etc) and how she was flustered that he was so calm and good at being a boyfriend

pretty cute show. fun and funny for the most part. the ED is fantastic; puts you in a damn good mood

6.5/10. idk if there is a 2nd season coming or not, but i'd watch it. just kinda sad that misuzu's love interest wasn't in that selfie at the end

also, kind of weird that the dad asked if she was his daughter. i don't want spoilers if there's actually something more to that, but that was really weird. out of the blue

That was a confession fitting for those two knuckleheads. I liked Tomo just going for the kiss at the end. Good, not everything needs to be saved for the "proper" moment.

Loved it all in all, but my one complaint is that the three moms needed more screentime. At least we got some Akemi at the end.

EPIC Battle between Jun vs Goro-san.

That Kiss was everything... It was very satisfying conclusion.
Tomo-chan is very happy.

It's kinda rare nowdays we got complete full adaptation in one Season.

Love all the seiyuu here, their chemistry is awesome.
especially Rie Takahashi, i'm gonna missed her tomboy voice.

Very Solid 8/10

Just another insufferable highschool anime rom-com.... orr at least it could've easily been. The second you see the female character punch the main character, you'd probably think that this would have nothing to offer than what we've seen a hundred times before. But no, its actually a bit more grown up than you'd expect, from the relationship between our two main characters, to its humour, which mostly comes from Misuzu and Carol of course. Goated characters, holy sh*t. And I mean, it has taken 13 episodes, 1 season, for our two lovers to come forward with their true feelings with each other, and have shared a kiss. This season does not leave you wanting more. It's complete, it's satisfactory. It's not all just mindless fluff, stuff happens that develops not only the relationship of Tomo and Jun, but our supporting characters as well. Idk man, just a quick glance at this and you'd probably judge it as being just another generic anime that isn't worth your time; because I thought the same thing.... but I was wrong. It was pretty worth it.

8.1/10

The whole fighting the dad thing was so silly and terribly uneeded. Sometimes I wonder how much of this is the mangaka and how much are the editors/publishing companies looking to squeeze every last yen out of a property.

I think that was the perfect way to end the show, with your fists and a smack full of lips, though I ain't lying when I say I wish we'd get even a little bit more epilogue though. GIVE US SOME OVAs!

I am going to miss Jun and Tomo, but I am most especially going to miss Carol and Misuzu.

Short but sweet, it was a pretty satisfying conclusion, the series showed all it needed too, now just give us some extra fluff. 8/10

Nope. Predictable and tired. I would have dropped it had it not been for Carol and her strange pal Gundo. Tomo is violet (as is Gundo) and prone to outbursts of fists and that is a no-no.

great way to end the series, an unexpected plot twist though, Jun has to win a match against Tomo's dad i mean even if he didn't really bring him down from watching Karate Kid and Cobra Kai, isn't landing a hit on the opponent a match point? He did land a clean hit so i guess it really was his victory, Damn, Tomo was pretty aggressive this episode, she wanted to be the first one to make a move first it would seem

This was episode was just plain cute and wholesome man I love how Jun was SO focused on the movie that part killed me, and Tomo cheering Jun in her chibi form so adorable to me😭🥹

While I do feel bad that Misuzu was left out with no boyfriend I’m sure she’ll find one when she wants to

The kiss at the end fucking CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD I wasn’t expecting Tomo to go in for the kiss right off the bat like that🫣😳

Anyways I’d rate this a good 8/10 I really hope we get like an OVA about them or something along those lines🙌🏽
