A cute anime about kids being pestered by delinquents in a junk yard.
Being from the 60s, anime hadn't carved out its unique identity yet. As a result this cartoon feels more like a Hanna-Barbera cartoon than it does an anime, which is not a bad thing. The character designs are charming, (especially Garigari, which I feel is why he was reused in Puss in Boots 3) and they have pretty fun chemistry with each other. A very pleasant anime to watch if you need something light after a heavy anime.
However, only the first two episodes are easily accessible online as the others appear lost to time oddly enough. A DVD set including the entire series was released in 2006 and 2016, which makes its inaccessibility that much more bizarre. Surely the entire series must reside somewhere, and not just the first two episodes. And as much as I like the show, I'm not sure I'm willing to spend around $100 (excluding shipping) to import a DVD set of the show, which probably won't be subtitled either...
