THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER.
----------------------------------------
It is too soon to judge the manga by now, but I think it is off to a good start. On a side note, Miura san started the manga hoping that his staff member will get better at drawing manga. This will allow Miura-san to trust his staff members to help him more drawing Berserk which can speed up the releases for each chapter -.-

Can't stand it. Okay okay the MC is non-binary, we get it already, stop bringing it up every 5 seconds. I have no problems with a non-binary MC, I really don't care what gender they are, I would just much rather it be a background topic than the main focal point of the story. The world seems potentially very interesting, can't we focus on that instead? Also the plot feels really convenient, that the MC is "too good" at everything. I know they are god-related, but it still feels like a stretch, like a "mary-sue" type. Also also it zips all over the place, the pacing feels off, obviously rushed to get as much "content" out in the initial 2 chapter release, hopefully it won't continue to have this pacing.

Really? Is it true that he started this to help his staff get better at drawing manga? If so then that's great since he's been doing berserk solo for all these years, the art Is amazing but it takes a LONG time for new chapters.

I think you're confusing sex and gender. The character doesn't seem like they've decided what their gender is, so I don't really think that's the focus. If anything, they're intersex, which again isn't about gender. Just a weird complaint that you don't like the focus on the character's origin and how they're different from everyone else. They're the protagonist.

Your complaint about the pacing is valid, though. I agree there.

Seriously, what the fuck is this? THIS is why Berserk continues to be on hiatus? Has Miura just stopped giving a single fuck anymore and delved headfirst into his fetishes? A story about some hermaphrodite trap thing? Sick joke.

Not confusing just perhaps not being clear, I think it's about both sex and gender. What I mean is that the MC and others have to come to terms both physiologically and psychologically with their situation. It doesn't seem to be an immediate concern for the MC, but the parents and the group of boys seem very preoccupied with the subjects (moreso gender identity than physical nature). It gave me a sense that a large part of the story would revolve around others reacting to their idea of the MC's gender and possibly if some unclothed scenes happen, their sex as well, which in turn would cause the MC to give the issue more of a thought and therefore be a large part of the story.

And yes, perhaps that is a weird complaint, but I am more interested in the world than the character development :)

Interesting! Well, perhaps its just a vehicle for the character to come to terms with their godhood. We'll see!

The mc isn't good at everything it already showed that the mc is really weak, but he/she/whatever is insanely smart so not a Mary Sue. I think the mangas only focusing on gender because its not like we can have the kid fighting demons immediately so its just focusing on a small issue that will probably cause problems later on

Even tho the manga felt overly bright sometimes, it seems quite interesting I'd say, it's beautiful. And differently from Berserk, this one already starts with a fantastical and mythological approach, which I'm personally quite fond of. Let's see where this is headed...

Grant me one hour on love's most sacred shores
To clasp the bosom that my soul adores,
Lie heart to heart and merge my soul with yours

Miura's really taking advantage of the vastness of Greek Mythology and it really makes me think about the vast potential the setting has in influencing how things will go. Usum's ability to converse with spirits is very reminiscent of Schierke's in Berserk and I personally find it really cool to see more of that.

As much as I want to see Usum help others with her craftsmanship, I really hope that she won't end up being too naive to the point that other people will take advantage of her skill and become overdependent towards it. That crossbow was awesome though~

There are a lot of things and situations that Usum has yet to encounter in life and her distinctly different body is just one of them. I think that the first arc would be very much like a coming-of-age type of story and I am looking forward to seeing her deepen her understanding towards herself and the world around her as she grows up.

I am also getting the feeling this is obviously being rushed, and I also think they’re bringing up they’re gender/sex way to often, and it ends up shying out other parts of the story. But I think the art in this chapter specifically the God at the waterfall was great. But hopefully they can improve.

Usum made some friends, and even created crossbows for them!

Very wholesome chapter.
