| I haven’t read the source material but this version has been doing a far more thorough job with backstory and development. So..I guess it’s following it well? |

It is a reboot presenting an original story, albeit heavily inspired by the manga. If you've read Trigun and Trigun Maximum, then you will most likely notice how Trigun Stampede follows general main plot points from the manga, even if in terms of details (execution, character designs, etc.) it goes its own way. I loved Trigun Maximum manga and I can say that Trigun Stampede anime is filled to the brim with the atmosphere known from the source material. Both animes are worth of checking out. However, if you don't know which one to pick and you want to pick only one show, then you need to ask yourself a question: do ypu prefer more shounen-like anime (Trigun), or something more seinen-like (Trigun Maximum)? |
