I think it is pretty clear, that Inglis is a Mary Sue, that whole "I want to fight someone strong" schtick is getting stale and genderbender theme's main purpose is to convey, that there will be NO romance (despite Rafael hitting on her and Rafina shipping them), so we have quite the predicament.

Will Inglis actually developed as a character, or this is all we gonna get?

Inglis already lived a full life, so you can't expect someone to change after they're getting old.

BUT her old tendancies as king will come back time to time, being a king and reincarnated is not there just for the joke, there's some meaning behind it.

So yeah, you can considere Inglis as a Mary-Sue for comedy purpose. Inglis adds a lot of comedy in a story that is a bit dark to say the least.

Edit : she actually grows as a woman the more she advanced in her new life. A side chapter (that I don't think it will adapt in the first season, since it doesn't add much for the story told in this season) shows how she became accustomed to other people staring at her when she was 13.

Inglis is more of a comedy in this dark LN. This LN gets really dark when it reaches Volume 5 when they learnt about the truth of holy knights and hieral menaces.

As the guy mentioned, Inglis has lived a full life as a king, she just wants to fight as she has little opportunities in her previous life.
Inglis learns about being a woman, such as getting used to stares from men.

Overpowered Female MC's are really boring!
Female characters are just not cut out for this overpowered MC roll! Inglis has again proved it!She is too perfect with zero faults! As always, too much to bad! So, Inglis has become a mary sue!😑

Besides,She got all the attention in every action scene but the side characters are getting low screencast!

It is long time since animators realised it!

We have Overpowered male MC's such as RIMURU,SAITAMA,DEMON SLAYERS 'S HASHIRAS etc.They gives a terrifying, cool vibe that gives chills to the audience!
Despite being overpowered They have tiny faults like saitama being bald,Rimuru being pennis less😅etc.This tiny faults in there character actually makes them very popular!

INGLIS is our 'One Punch Girl' ! But she not so popular as Saitama the 'One Punch Man'!

That's probably 'cause side characters are getting low screencast compared to 'ONE PUNCH MAN'!This making INGLIS somewhat boring!
It's not necessary for an Overpowered MC to fight in every action scene! Saitama doesn’t but Inglis does !

This tiny gap has made a day&night difference between INGLIS & SAITAMA😅!

So,I agree that Inglis is a "MARY-SUE" 🙃

Yep, basically. She's sort of a wish fulfillment character, I guess. She's supposed to function as comic relief at times (story gets dark) and as fan service in other.

But there are definitely moments where her (his?) precious tendencies as a statesman come around, so there is some relevance to her past life.

It is mentioned multiple times that a prismer can only be defeated by a holy knight wielding a hieral menace as a weapon.
