"Little Champ" Visual comedy here was great. Seeing a boxing match between two 5-year olds was a bit strange, but everything there was actually really well animated. Seeing the father's health declining from lack of food is pretty tough. It was tough in Ashita no Joe too (And 2), but god damn, Toei didn't soften up his suffering here. The moment between the two at the end of the episode was sweet, the dude REALLY cares about his boy. The more of this anime I watch, the more I'm actually considering putting aside money for somebody to do a proper fansub, because this anime is SO much better than I thought it would be. So far, this is on a strong trajectory to be either a 9/10, or maybe even a 10/10! |
