So I just watched episode 1. And unless the guy is haado gay: WTF. Tomo is a sexy, smoking hot tomboy girl! Big boobs and female curves everywhere.

Why he not see her as a girl?! "Blabla they grew up together" is a weak argument, many people grow up together without forgetting the other's sex.

Really weird. This story would work better if Tomo were ugly, or at least had a flat chest or whatever.
If you haven't watched "Fantastic Children", don't talk about "best anime". Thank you.

I feel like he does know that she's a girl but doesn't want to upset their relationship as best friends.

Actually you will get to know about him better and why he acts like that in next 2 episodes. They will be dropping hints

Yes that's the case. In ep 3 it was clear

Bruh watch the latest eps then you'll know. He does know she's a girl. He just forgets sometimes. It was mentioned in the manga. Don't remember if anime showed it or not. And there are also some other reasons. You'll get some hints from the latest eps. So watch.

Exactly.

In the dub during episode 1 he even mentions trying to find a co-ed club so they can do it together. She’s just one of the boys in his eyes

Bruh for me it is obvious from ep 1 that he is interested same as Tomo is and he is just constraining himself.

There are some instances that tell you he does have a crush on her but doesn’t pursue her for reasons we don’t know

Nah bro you jumping to conclusions to early. Just chill the fuck out and go wit the flow. It’ll make sense as the story progresses.

You do this way too often.
If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

All your questions will be explained in the later part of the anime. You don't need to worry about all that right now.

This is why anime should NEVER fall to western influence, because what makes anime so amazing is it is all focused on the culture and psyche of JAPANESE people. And Japanese people are different compared to western people, from men to women. They have unique personalities and sense of expression unique to their culture because they foster a spirit of creativity. Why I say all this is because you are just insulting Junichiruou when Junichirou is still coming to terms with his own feelings, and doesn’t want to lose what they have currently while Tomo wants Junichirou to be her man and see her as a woman. This is actually an extremely common problem in Japan where men struggle in relationships and how to deal with women. It is embarrassing to them or just a headache, hence why cheating is not only common but normalized. Believe it or not, some married couples don’t even have sex due to intimacy issues. What you think is just a stupid premise of a show is based on REALITY, and while it is essentially just a comedy romance, it still delves into real issues Japanese people face. This video is an interview if a married couple, and this is just one story of probably millions of married people that deal with these types of issues. Before dragging things through the mid, at least do research. https://youtube.com/watch?v=7-XsPDHo89w&si=EnSIkaIECMiOmarE

He absolutely sees that she's a girl, he even is physically turned on by her, he's trying his hardest not to because he doesn't want their friendship to change. He thought she was a boy when they were kids and developed a certain style of friendship including fist fighting, he doesn't want to change that.

Jun is unbelievable in every sense of the word. He's so full of shit that if he took an enema he'd disappear without a trace.

Wat

No, it's "The guy I love thinks of me as a dude".

I watched episode 3 now and it's clear that he's kinda aware of her, though.

As you can see it was never treated seriously.

It's pretty obvious that he likes her as she is but for some reason people love writing stories where their female characters need to change their image for no reason

Watch a couple more episodes and pay very close attention to Jun's behavior, and you'll understand what's actually going on.
