In any case , he would have survived.
The question was : Would he stay alone forever in the R timeline , or would he comes back to the Steins;Gate timeline.
And thanks to Kurisu , he did come back.

It's not Canon tho , as the Original series said that only 1 timeline could be active at a time , but here we see 2.
It doesn't change that it's a great and enjoyable Movie.

It is connected , it just isn't 100% faithful to the idea.

something that you won't understand if you apply logic. technically movie is not a canon but i consider it canon cause it shows what could be the aftermath because of changing so many world lines in previous seasons and that's what has been shown in the movie. i would call it a masterpiece equivalent to disappearencs of haruhi Suzumiya movie.

As someone who’s favorite anime is steins gate and thought disappearance of haruhi suzumiya was a master piece as well. I would support this hot take. It is a hot take don’t get me wrong but I support it

There are no 2 worldlines in the movie, since the R "worldline" is not an actual worldline, it's just Suzuha's misinterpretation.

The movie makes 100% sense and consistent with S;G

Anyone who believes it's not canon and breaks the rules should really listen this Drama CD called Posteriori Existence: https://youtu.be/CEo4IsxRZ0k

This movie was initially confusing for me, but after some analysis i arrived at a conclusion:

Basically, Steins;gate movie revolves around 1 important concept.

After reaching the Steins;gate worldline where Kurisu and Mayushii both exist peacefully, Okarin believes that this world line is not real, as memories from other world lines causes his Reading Steiner to overload, causing him to disappear to the 'R' world line.

When Okarin disappeared, Kurisu rebuilt the Phone Microwave to travel back to the past, and find a solution to prevent Okarin from disappearing again. However, she failed, and before disappearing, Okarin told Kurisu to never build the time machine as it could lead to destruction again, which happened to Okarin countless of times in other world lines.

In the end, both Suzuha and Kurisu came up with another solution, which was to travel to the past (2005), and leave a lasting memory in Okarin, that has never happened in other world lines

In 2005, Okarin was comforting Mayushii when she lost her parents and she becomes his "hostage", which is a memorable moment for Okarin.
To enhance his memory and make it last, Kurisu gave him his "first kiss", which is significant as when Okarin grows up and doubts the reality of Steins;gate world line, he will always remember this and not disappear.

The last scene is a point where Okarin is now an adult 5 years later, where Okarin and Kurisu were talking about his first kiss, and he denys it was with her, but Kurisu smiles.
So Okarin is alive and it is a happy ending

Pretty much this, but here is a more precise explanation which is consistent with previously introduced S;G mechanics (copy pasted my comment from another thread)

I have a question it may come as funny to you but seriously I have no clue. What is Sci adv vn.Is it really connected and is part of the official story or does it explains the sotry or something?
Watch order of Kizumonogatari or whatever you call it collectively. (I have watched the three movies kizu1, kizu2, kizu3) And I dont want any made up, just how the show was aired from start to end

Steins;Gate is Part 2 of the Science Adventure series, a series of visual novels. It's not a standalone story.
