The first half of this volume is very dull ngl, it's literally everyone going back and forth about how ill-suited Anis is for the throne for about 43475r83047r times.

Thankfully the 2nd half makes up for it with Euphie shifting into overdrive to become more useful to Anis by taking the Queen position away from her (at the cost of her humanity rip). Oh and she requires mana now to survive so we'll probably see more repeats of the bed scene in the future.

Though why does Anis need to develop the flying motorcycle @ Hydrair if the she mentions of mass-producing the more practical floating dress. I don't recall her saying any reasons like production costs etc

Very much disagreeing with this, I was very invested in the whole drama this volume was going for, I think I grew fonder and more invested on the characters with this volme and that helped alot.

The scene with Anis opening up fully to Euphy then being shoot down and constantly embarassed by an unrelenting Euphenia, looking to score one more was just CUTE, that Anis gets all shy like this despite her cheerful nature, ADORABLE.
I loved almost everything in this volume, up to after the chapter with the "Pelling of the Mask" thing, after that to me lacked a bite to make it a really good conclusion.

A few points why I think that happens... Euphy entering in a convenant, I was expecting that to not be needed, to find another way, the past that was revealed, I dont want Euphy to suffer from immortality, from how everything was described, there is absolute no escape from this, and such a sacrifice is too ridiculous.
So much though is put on how much this will impact Euphy life, then we never see her actually entering, how was it, what were exactly the conditions?! It seems just a drastic and cathartic thing, yet it is almost like it doesnt exist. like this is not a problem unavoidable that both characters will have to deal with.

From a narrative perspective, this is not the direction I wanted their relationship to follow and the writter seemed to have forgotten how dire the situation is, like yes like I said this is a problem, but I will focus on that and present a definitive solution in the future, not a fan of that, and Anis losing that battle felt ODD, wasnt expecting, Euphy can be OP, but was Anis really using fully her power?! I feel like that was a tad BS but maybe her conviction just wavered all the more, unlike Euphy and that is what made the difference.

Anyway really strong volume for the majority of the duration, then kinda fucks in the finalization and undervaluing the full gravity of the choice Eupohy made.
Still my favorite volume so far, curious to the see direction it goes from here, but I will be critical about Euphy's decision since I cant see an happy outcome with such a sacrifice.

Main reason for not giving it a 10 is that it was really verbose at times. I feel like about 20-30 pages probably could’ve been cut out. A lot of the stuff with Anis wanting to stay the heir and Euphie wanting to stop her from being queen was repetitive. I also think the stuff with euphie spirit covenant was brushed over too fast.

The meat of the story doesn’t really get going until around page 100 where we meet Lumi. The twist with her was cool and I liked the world-building and lore we got.

I’m glad piero-sensei focused on the cornerstone of the series which is Anis and Euphie relationship. Seeing them take major steps together, bare their souls and basically becoming official was so cute. Euphie grew up a lot in the span of this arc, going from such a timid and confused girl to a strong, dominant and supportive partner for Anis willing to take on the role of queen.

I definitely see why Diomedea rushed thru volume 1 and 2 to get to this. Even tho I hate that the queen has basically been written out the story, it is a lot of stuff happening and the ending of volume 3 is the perfect place to end a season. I’m in love with that last illustration and can’t wait to see these animated 😩

I mean the drama is one thing, it’s the repetitive nature of the drama that he and a lot of other people don’t like. Like there’s 10-15 pages of just saying the same stuff about how inheriting the crown is her life’s purpose etc etc

To me it didn't felt repetitive since it felt that it was putting more emphasis, giving weight to the consequences of volume 2.

Besides I enjoyed to see Euphy perspective for the whole thing, and her development.
Everything made for me to be way more connected to both characters than I ever was, and then you also get the relationship development.

I have bitched about the same thing he does for other series, so I can relate when an writer focus too much to the point of being annoying, but it was surprisingly refreshing to see it click so well with me here.

The pacing the anime has should mitigate a problem like this that some could have.

As for further volumes, I would actually like to see both leads to have a clash of wills again, I don't think Anis can still accept fully heartedly the sacrifice Euphy will have to bear, neither can I

I just noticed I didn’t finish typing my original sentence lmao. But it’s cool you enjoyed it. I think the emotional peaks in volume 3 are the best in the series so far but the other stuff was meh

Indeed, because I couldnt connect that well with vol1's, and vol2's gave me many mixed feeling specially how the villain was portrayed through most the series to that point and then such a swift... the problem with this series is translation is gonna be a bitch and I never found a translated WN version to read.

And again, how long will this even run? Against I m in love with the Villainess, similiar lenght in WN, the other already finished with 5 volumes, this one still going at 6, and I have not seen it is complete as 6, so there should be a final 7th volume that ends??
Would be nice to know, but couldnt find any info.
