| I have read the manga and the first volume of the light novels, but I only speak English, and there are no official translations available. But what I've noticed is a lot of detail and even arcane knowledge about motorcycle culture, and very detailed information about our characters, their clothing, their everyday lives. The anime only adapts the first two volumes of the light novel, from a total of 8 volumes, and from necessity leaves out quite a bit of the first two books. There are many side characters and minor subplots that make the novel or manga a rich experience. The anime, by contrast, is simplistic and spare, sort of minimalist, but beautiful in its own way. The use of light and color, the voice acting, and the music bring the story to life in a different way. |
