It was great! I don't know why people say like ''They only use bocchi for meme all time'' Dude, the real based thing is they are using it everytime and everytime it works!
They adapted well from manga, in manga it was great but after this episode I'm sure that Anime did very well!

Great episode with Bocchi lifting up the spirits of the band and getting closer to Nijika by realizing what her actual dream was.

Also, as per usual, the game of life sequence was really funny, as the sandpaper gag.

Omg they did the reference to the thing.

And then they said the name too. The best part is when she says "Its bocchi the rockin' time" and then bocchi the rocks all over those guys.

Fr tho I feel these guys. You practice perfectly day after day for weeks and then when you finally get up in front of people it all seems to go right out the window. Bocchi has really come a long way tho. You go lil introvert

I don't know shit about music, can anyone who does tell us if the first song they played was actually out of sync from a musical standpoint?

I couldn't hear any obvious mistakes but I'm no expert, I thought it sounded good.

Many hurdles and unexpected curveballs in life will come quite more often than we'd like, in any shape or form, and the most important thing to do is to deal with those obstacles with whatever means necessary. For the Kessoku Band in this case, the obstacles were Mother Nature in a form of heavy storms and the initial nervousness of having their first ever live concert. The first part of their concert turned out a mess as they were offbeat and not on the same page; ultimately this is a part of a bigger journey: you're gonna have setbacks, flaws, missed opportunities, but the importance is to stay focused on the main goal up ahead. While I don't think Bocchi has a set long-term goal for herself yet, but that's fine, she wants to help her band group attain their own dreams right now. In a very inspiring and befittingly hero-esque moment, she kickstarts the second part of their concert, taking the lead, gaining more confidence, and helping the other members follow along her pace and perform well on their own end. While it wasn't really as much of a successful live concert as they had initially hoped, the emotional weight and sense of relief and gratification was still all the more important, and they can definitely continue to grow from here now out. Getting a bit more of Nijika's backstory was also really a nice touch and puts even more significance to her own dreams, as outlandish as they may initially seem. I like that she already knew about Bocchi being the "Guitar Hero" and that what she did back there was befittingly akin to an actual hero. Love that title drop at the end by Nijika, too....sorry, Dwayne Johnson, there's a new Rock in town, and her name is "Bocchi The Rock!" xD.

On a side note, it's extremely funny when I see people trying comparing this to K-On and calling it a knockoff, when the two shows are so fundamentally different in how everything is set up beyond the mere superficial "cute girls doing things" classification. Here the characters are actually moving forward both as a group and as individuals, which is something I rarely ever seen done nearly as effectively in other similar series, given the massive number that I've watched before. The music continues to be extremely solid and it's just as vital to the series as the characters are imho, especially when you look at their lyrics. That performance was extremely well animated and directed, thanks to the passionate anime staff who were really hyping this up prior to the broadcast. While I don't think this is THE best episode of the series so far, it's at least one of the best, if anything. Bocchi The Rock continues to be a top notch series for me and an easy top favorite as well, perhaps it'll be in my top 10 by the time it finishes if the next episodes also surpass expectations.

I am not a musican either, but I have listened to that song at least a dozen times on youtube, so even I could tell that the singer and the instruments were out of sync a few times. Just concentrate on the singers voice, she is definitely messes up the rythm more than once.

I love how you could actually tell the first dong was going badly without the need of any characters telling you. I actually went 'That sounds weird' when they started playing, and there were so many tempo and timing errors that I was finding it hard to sit through the song. But then Bocchi comes along and slays on the guitar and lives up to the title of the show.

There were some great jokes in the iyazaka like the game of life one and the sandpaper bit, but the part where they completely change the art style for two random adults and then animate the hell out of them just for a bit made me lose it. Then the episode shifted gears again with Nijika and Bocchi, making me all emotional. They even got the title drop in that!

All in all, another 5/5 episode. This might just turn out to be the easiest 10/10 rating I ever gave to a show.

I'm not knowledgeable about instruments and stuff either but i think the drums sounded pretty off and all the instruments were out of sync all the time. It becomes more obvious when you listen to the original song too many times lol. Also the vocals were really tone deaf, which is kinda normal in live performances honestly, props to the VA since she's really good in her original version.

I'm convinced Ashita no Joe isn't only the most referenced series but also the most referenced cultural asset in anime. There are days where I see it twice in ongoing seasonals.

Such a good episode.

Also SHE SAID THE THING!!! ROLL CREDITS!!!! Oh wait, they did lol.

I'm seeing more and more posts about Bocchi The Rock and seeing it high on ranking polls so I really hope it gets a season 2. Its an absolute gem. (Update: Checked the manga chapters and its gonna be very low possibility of season 2 since theres only like 28 chapters out and most anime adapt like 25-30 chapters for a season)

There are currently 60+ chapters, only 28 are translated to english. Also this season is going to adapt like 20 chapters max since the anime is adapting 1-2 chapters per episode (this episode adapted chapter 12-13 btw). Considering the hype it's getting in Japan, I'm sure this will get another season

Amazing episode. Loved how Bocchi got actually kinda fed up and mad and just threw her anxiety out the window. Love how this series really makes you root for the girls and their dreams. And ofc Bocchi's meltdowns post concert were, as always, amazingly fun.

Really looking forward for what's next for them and how Bocchi handles it. Though I imagine there is still going to be quite a few bumps in the road for them (let's be honest, there wouldn't be a story otherwise).

Putting an effort to clue the viewer on discovering by themselves that they are out of sync at first was a perfect detail, you can tell from the beginning. It reminded me of how Hibike also put trust in the viewer, and I love that this is becoming a standard in the medium. I feared that the concert scene could go on for too long, but it wasn't the case, it did the job of delivering the messages and the performance was entertaining. A disengaged audience can truly ruin the mood, I remember being at this festival waiting for Travis Scott, and fucking Mitski did a concert before (A fucking good artist, btw). Of course, the Travis Scott fans were completely uninterested in her music and just stayed still while chatting on Instagram or shit, and the demographic of Mitski annoyed the fuck out of them too. Nailing the sensation, the worries, that is what works perfectly here, I could feel the awkwardness.

Well, the restaurant scene is another occasion where this anime perfectly captures a social event and their different perspectives. I would say, the visual cues about Nijika not being there were awesome because as a viewer you are filled with the question way before the anime even straightly acknowledge it through verbalization. And it is pretty apparent that Bocchi and Nijika interactions can't miss

Big season finale energy in this episode, which is great until the next four episodes lack that sauce and people have their expectations let down. I hope not though.
