| What's the difference between this and the 2000's version? Which one should I watch? |

| 2019 adapts the first few light novels, 2000 is an original story set after the first novel (first three episodes of 2019). They're different but both are good imo. You should watch at least the first three episodes of 2019 before 2000 because the context is very much needed. I watched 2019 completely before I watched 2000. |

| Well from what I understood watching both, the 2019 one is a prequel to the 2000, as the the story of the 2000 is about events that happened after the Manticore arc. |

Even if a person watches the anime and doesn’t understand that doesn’t mean it’s written poorly. From what I remember it was fairly understandable with many philosophical debates such as free will. Shows like this, Steins;Gate, NGE, Psycho Pass, and Garden of Sinners all have a complex story but all are good. so true complex plot > everything else literally the best shit ever when it's confusing and it makes you think heavily |
| The 2000 one is a fucking masterpiece. The 2018 one fails to capture the essence of the novels or so I've heard. Watch the 2000 one first. |
