removed-user said: in a different sense, thinking about the actual imagery of what the novels are about, i can see why it could be thought of having a double meaning. since fire gives off light (and irrelevantly, had always been a source of it in history before more efficient or sophisticated procurings of light that we enjoy today were common-place)... however. hinata rieko said that she specifically wanted to write a story based around fire in particular, and this reflects in the name (火狩りの王). thus, i don't think it is meant to be a double meaning title. my mindset is that fire is light, light is not always fire. i would simply translate it to be "lord of the fire hunters", "king of the fire hunters", "fire hunter king".judging from synopsis and cover this is looking very interesting. could be a really nice fantasy. also, just a random thought but could the title have a double meaning? since if spelt with different kanji it could also mean king of the light. |
