I like their manager's attitude tbh. It's not always about just making money but also trying their hardest. Alot of laughter and joy from this episode but it feels like a calm before the storm.

Hoping to see these idols make a breakout.

Another enjoyable episode. This show has a great character chemistry.

The manager is doing his best to make our girls better idols. He's such a good guy.

The girls did a good job with selling their tickets. :)

Everyone in the audience loved the performance. Well done, TINGS!

Sold Out! Congratulations! It was a great successful event for them, especially with a small group like TINGS.

“No one tries to make a miracle happen from the start. They just try as hard as they possibly can to do something. They want to make it work. They want to change something.”
Keep Fighting! TINGS!

btw, where can I buy their ticket??

WAIT. I just found out this is based on a LN and isn’t anime original?? I don’t think I’ve ever seen an idol LN, will 1000 percent be peeping that soon.

As for the episode itself, another really really good one. I love the seiyuu cast, a lot of quality there. The animation during Tings performance at the end was also amazing. With this and Superstar, idol stans are eating great this season fr

I just wish Haru would use her glasses more often, she looks super cute with them, I'm pretty excited to see how Rio grows as an idol and deals with her insecurities and how she hides under that mask.

basically haru is the tuner of this team for the dance performance since rio is one step slower than the other two, so they are not really neccessary to dance in a same pace.

So Yukine and Momiji seem to be trying to set themselves up as the rivals to Tingis? We’ll see how that goes since those two seem like real goofs lol.

Haru, Rio, Kyouka, Rio really hustled their butts off trying to sell those tickets. Good thing their manager stepped in and called in a favor with Eiko. She’s a real character lol. 7 minutes was all it took to sell out those tickets, Nao is good.

The girls are still green but it looks like folks are able see their potential. Seems like with Nao’s help, Tingis might be huge.

Solid episode.

Very enjoyable. I'm glad they were able to sold all of thier tickets. It must be a great feeling to have full show for the first time.

Hoping tings keeps shining.

5/5.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.

Looking at OP and promotional material, it looks like they joined TingS at some point to complete the 5. I hope its coming soon.

I think there is another 5 girl rival, looking from the OP, that blue long haired girl, then we see her walking in another group of 5.....The wiki page lists a few other groups we havent seen yet.

Production is good. I like the animation, especially during performances. None of that silky smooth 3D rendering we see in other idol shows that bring that awkward uncanny valley feeling. Looking at Love Live ugh....just ugh. Nauseating.

Also after watching the episode several times, I love watching that their performance isnt flash hot, again, none of that identical 3D clone rigging we see in other idol shows....the differences in their movements when doing the same dance routine is just like in real life, its not perfect at all, and thats whats making this show great!

The actual OP is very clean, color me surprised.

The 3-member TiNgS group are only scratching the surface with Manager Naoki, and for a start with hard-selling their small 100-pax audience against rival groups that are much well-known. It's definitely hard for that "determination overcomes all" theory which Naoki is banking on, though his job for now is more of assessing the group's dynamics against other groups that have a bigger fanbase than them (solo Hotaru, groups FFF and HY:RAIN).

Naoki's proposition to sell tickets...lands them in another idol group's way (YuraYura Sisters Natalya and Miina Hirose a.k.a YuraSis) with help from a former manager, his idea coming from his established network that'd help them sell faster, and in record time no less for a rookie group.

Once the tickets are out, it's perfecting the choreography and impressing the small hard-fought earned audience, and the production is all 2D and none of that 3DCG weirdness that's plagued so many idol shows of the same kind (the only exception being Uma Musume).

Definitely a sticker.

Totally agree! Glad I'm not the only feeling getting those awkward vibes with those 3DCG.

Honourable mention is also LayDuce with HoneyWorks' Heroines Run the Show, is also 2D hardwork animation goodness.

As for rivals:

Suddenly Google is spying on me!
Just have this on my YT recommendations:

A rival band called FFF (listed in the Shine Post Wiki)

This MV, the EDM dubstep music is just catchy to me. Looks like TingS have some strong rivals.

I like the animations too, but I think its going to be as tropey as it gets....overcoming adversity, anxieties, insecurities and the competition and while getting along and working well together as a team to get to the top.

We could even say, cutting it down to the bone, Kong Ming, and even Sound Euphonium also follows this well trodden formula.

The manager handled everything and if he saw something in the center, noting that she was only looking to be the support of her two teammates but already made her shine and that caught the attention, now it only remains to see how they will continue to move up then.

This show is definitely giving me Kongming vibes from last season, but obviously with a bit of a different situation. It's definitely a step down from Kongming, the songs aren't as much of a bop as the one's in Kongming, manager is definitely a step down from Kongming, and these girls aren't as interesting to me as Eiko was. However, this show is definitely enjoyable and this episode proved that. It may not be Kongming, but it still has enough character, jokes, and decent music that it is still a fun watch. So far been a 6 for me, teetering on the edge of a 7. I will say though, this isn't quite out of reach from drop range. The story still feels a bit bland, and again the music so far has been ok, but something I liked in Kongming is that the lyrics were meaningful. So far, the lyrics clearly don't mean much if they aren't even being subtitled. Sure, they are groovy, but in a music anime, I wanna see if they actually care about what they are singing or if they are just writing random crap.

Interesting manager tactics.

He's basically using his past experience and old favors to boost his own Idols.

And he did it in a way where the Tickets are sold to pretty much ppls that are already interested in seeing Idols, so they have a very high chance to buying the Tickets.

___ ___ ___

And then after the concert, the bigger Idol fans that came to watch gave critics that was pretty underwhelming where they pretty much determine Tings is just "playing Idols".

Also, they skipped the start song/ dance... Tho that sorta makes sense, as someone above said this was from LN, which means it's mainly words. Where it's mostly just the manager talking about how things are going.

Then afterwards they end it with one last concert (in mixed 3D - far view, and 2D - close view), where Haru decides to go all out on her performance. (which you can see she's moving a lot more than the other 2 girls and getting the audience to focus on her, aka a "Center's Aura")

Tho according to the manager, she couldn't get to that stage of dancing without observing the other 2 girls and memorizing the dance movements and improve on it.

___ ___ ___

We're 2 episodes in, I can already tell this series isn't going to be about their performances or song... the series will be focused on "How to run an Idol business".

(Judging by the OP/ ED and the inserts, there's going to be very little amount of actual songs and 90% will be the manager talking/ thinking on running an Idol business)

Well, it looks like it was successful.
The girls had to sell 100 tickets and the manager had a plan to sell them. Now it was time to see how the concert would turn out, and the manager advised Haru to be the "signpost".
The song was good, good chapter.
The opening was ok and the ending is very good.
