I wish I knew that, on especially busy days, my meals would just be whatever left over bits that my daughter didn't eat.

I wish I knew that any delusions of just being a cool, chill, hang-out kinda dad all the time would go by the wayside.

Some days are just hard and aren't going to go as planned, and those days your kid is going to be at odds with you no matter how much you try to perpetuate chill vibes. (Not talking about today, but just in general)

True! And I'll have to keep that in mind as the kids get older, too. Just because they'll start to really communicate doesn't mean they'll want to communicate with me.
