The Kanagawa Prefectural Newbie Tournament, and both Mizushima and Matsuda are destined to face each other while Yusa takes a backseat in the final Singles match, and even then it just felt like the Ranked Matches they had before, just now at the cusp of entering legit tournaments where their skills are all they have.

Matsuda takes the first game easy with a 21-12 win, and Mizushima should follow Akira's advice to wear him Matsuda down for the next few, which seems frustrating for the latter to identify his game, that with endurance and focus (like an inferior Tanjiro), is able to eke a close win on the second by a mere game point, 23-21.

The 3rd and final game, and Mizushima is not making things easy for Matsuda. Also, Mizushima's foresight ability comes back now as a strength to crown him as the winner. Also, he gets a chance to finally face against Shizuo, but there's a way to defeat him already before the match ever started, and it's more than just his injured leg alone.

Do I really want to suffer another cour of this? This is already so boring for the 3-month run this has so far, the only redemption IMO is the nice OP.

Almost heard Hero Academia signature "You Say Run" in the soundtrack, not surprised since same composer.

Mizushima was in the zone, it's a great feeling, everything you touch turns to gold. A shame about the unsportsmanlike celebrating, this clown shouting and looking in his opponents direction after winning points and the 2nd set lol. I applaud Matusda for not being a little salty after the loss, my handshake would have extremely brief if I was playing someone with those antics. A big reason why Djokovic, the clown himself, is much disliked in professional tennis.

Preview tells me he's going to fight his morals in the next match, he better man up and target the injured leg or else my score drops. That injured clown shouldn't even playing anyway.

Mizushima said he’s only got “tenacity” over Matsuda, but really he has a whole lot more. Sure his technical ability and technique aren’t anywhere near Matsuda, but he’s got more stamina and flexibility. Those are his strong suits. Mizushima seems to be able to adjust his play with relative ease. Matsuda just seems way too rigid. When things don’t go his way, he panics and it’s just all over for him.

Mizushima was so focused this game, he was like another player. We even saw his body kind of move on his own. He was able to both focus and have fun at the same time. Matsuda meanwhile was just panicking the entire game, over analyzing everything. That plus his lack of stamina kinda of killed him. But man, that was a great match. I hope Matsuda figured out his real issue soon. Stamina is just part of it.

This next doubles game against Mizushima’s buddies is gonna be rough. I can see Mizushima hesitating already and them possibly tying in that first game. I bet his buddy’s gonna tell him to treat this like any other game and play for real, leading to a victory for Mizushima. It’s either that or Mizushima goes for the kill early on and wins, but it causes static with his buddies.

Mizushima was absolutely dull in the previous eps, but the fact he's slowly getting better now is great. Looking forward for Mizushima to become a refined player in the later episodes. I'm thinking this anime will have 24 eps, I hope so or longer...

Fine episode but didn't hold my interest much. I am looking forward to the next episode more tough. He came this far just to battle his friends and now they're injured. Will he hesitate?

that intense look on Matsuda's face when he saw Ryou smiling was amusing. Ryou was really in the zone it was like he was brainwashing himself and it worked in his favor especially because Matsuda was rushing too much because he didn't want to let it become a contest of stamina.

Looks like next episode will be filled with more drama with Ryou feeling the dilemma of targeting Shizuo since he has an injured leg, and they'll probably realize he's holding back against them which will annoy them.

Kek i thought they forgot about playing with Ryou old friend. But looks i just wrong taking the route of the plot, by having the double part be done sooner than i expected and makes this episode a solely single match special for Ryou and Koki only.

Surprise they can stretch their rubber game into one episode
Very tight and undoubtedly feels bored when you get where things end. However, i can still feel alright about this one, but i am bit worry about the next drama that seems way too obvious. Come on! Don't give him a pity!

I had a feeling that Ryo would win this match, but I still feel bad for Koki. I like him more as a character, but I guess they need to kick off his development somehow.

I wonder how many episodes this anime will have. This was episode 12, and it doesn't seem like we're close to the "grand finale". They could technically end it on episode 13, but I don't know. The tone is off. It just doesn't feel like the final.

Ryo handing Matsuda his whips was the most satisfying thing from the whole season. Splendid match, Ryo is maturing at a steady speed.

Excited to see Mizushima play against his old teammates in the next episode ✌✌ I was surprised that this got a 2nd cour 😅 they seemed to cut a lot of game footage, I thought they would be wrapping it up by the 12th episode.

Wonder if we will get to see the girl's badminton team play??

That was a pretty rough game at first. Mizushima understandably just couldn’t focus, especially with that strategy (though it was sound) and with his friend being hurt like that. I kind of figured that would happen when he saw his buddy’s knee like that in the last ep. But I’m glad he managed to focus up eventually and win that match. All those fellas played very well. It might not have been the match they wanted, but they played their hearts out and gave it their all.

Looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Can't say I'm fond of Matsuda but I dislike the mc's bursts of Kise's perfect copy, down to the same muttering even, even more. Like, despite being neutral at the start, I'm starting to cheer for anyone other than the mc, which likely means this anime isn't doing the competitive aspect right.
