Seeing that it's a movie and it's not a sequel, I'm assuming this just a watered down version of the tv series

I don't know what they'll do, and tbh, I don't know how they can continue the story, but I'll watch the movie cuz I liked Kakushigoto, one of the Comedy Anime that I liked. And I usually don't like Comedy Anime.

It'll be a compilation with new content. Could adapt the chapters which the anime didn't.

Looks like it's the anime series recut, with some missing scenes added - and hopefully fixing the ending a bit more inline with the source.

I'll be looking forwards to this...

I think the ending is the most likely to get revamped since the anime ended before the manga (haven’t read it btw, just what I heard). It’s a compilation film so you should be expecting that much from it. I just hope it will include lots of new animation not in the TV anime. But it’s been a while since I watched it so I might as well watch this movie to reexperience the anime but in a much shorter timeframe (Ik Kakushigoto isn't the longest anime to rewatch, but usually recap movies of longer anime suffer in pacing so). I appreciate compilation films for this quality alone.

I just watched the movie and the changes are pretty minor. I'd suggest fast forwarding to watch just the timestamps below. There's about 3 minutes total of new footage towards the end that is honestly kinda touching and easily worth watching for.

Below are the only changed scenes I noticed during my watch, though most of these scenes are just slightly rearranged tv show footage with new narration over it. (For reference, in my copy, the studio logos end and the wind chimes start ringing at 0:00:26.)

00:26 - 01:45
11:20 - 11:50
20:20 - 23:55 (heavily edited highlight reel with some nice effects)
38:00 - 38:50
40:37 - 41:22
49:53 - 50:22
1:03:38 - 1:05:20 (new scene with important backstory reveals)
1:12:56 - 1:14:13 (new scene that reveals more of what happened after the show ended)
1:18:22 - 1:18:35

This helped a lot, did not want to see the full movie, thank you very much.
Checking back the last few pages of the manga, being 12 volumes long, it seems this movie added some must watch scenes that were skipped on the TV version.

Funny the movie was even more rushed than the airing, which was 12 episode for 12 volumes (WTF), but still had these key scenes in.
I guess that the manga ending a few weeks after the anime was the factor in this.

Wow, this is the best comment about this entry so far. Thanks.

are the time stamps without () only the re-arragend tv footage?

would you say those are skipable if i remember the tv show vividly (watched it just recently)

also, is the only thing on the credits Kakushi returning home?
