Ahh I don't understand the vision the author has. I don't mind the message or thorfinn's development. I just feel like he got too comfortable through out the years and forgot the atmosphere his Manga used to have...
I think it depends on your personal taste but I'm not into this.

Not completely sure what to think about this chapter, I'm just honestly shocked by the fact Thorkell actually had a wife-of-sorts.
Got to say while I do like the humor at times, the tone shift has been a bit too goofy in my opinion

Dropping this goofy character into the cast and then expecting me to take her backstory seriously is massively foolish move.

I somehow feel like it will degrade even more after they start the journey but I really hope that the manga will get back on track with it's mood once they set sail to Vinland.

@midascruzer So did it go downhill from here? I need to know before I continue reading it, because I don't wanna end up seeing furries living together in Vinland. I hate it when most good stories start forcing you to accept whatever bullshit they throw at you just because they want to please the media.

The thing is about this "accepting" community, is that it goes too far with unreal events or characters and you are forced to "accept" it. Like imagine if he threw a racist character in the mix, and made it clear that everyone hated racism, although that word might not have even existed in their time. So why bring up an unreal concept that wouldn't be logical at all. Like suddenly I am forced to accept that it makes sense and the reaction of all the characters that they understand it and accept it.. like really? not even one of them was shocked or surprised? We are all forced to accept immoral ways of raising children and forcing them to be what we want, forced to accept the mental illnesses the community creates as "I am what I am". but if you disagree with this pov then you are evil etc. Well you should accept me and my pov just as you are so forgiving and accepting of everything. Like eventually we would be forced to people with schizophrenia and deal with their 27 personalities, and god forbid you miss-name one of the 27 names of the schizophrenic guy. Next they should add the guy from Split on Vinland and accept him with all the shit he does with his 21 personalities. Next up, pedos, zoophiles and incest. They are all part of the community, right? zoophiles are not harming anyone, right? they are free to do what they want, right? and incest too, it's just pure love, right? These people would probably be surprised that incest existed back then, but why didn't the writer bring that up? because it's a frowned upon topic. No one wants throfinn to be doing his sis. Although it can be logical and realistic for that to happen, unlike this character that wouldn't live that long in that age of time.
