This episode was just depressing...protests on the outside and a bedridden woman in that hospital.

It feels like with every episode, there's unrest in the city and there's seemingly no end to the chaos. It's a really depressing state their world has been in tbh.

Pretty sad and tense episode again. Everything is a big mess.

It was a big shock for Shu to learn the truth about the KANAE system.

It's taken 2 weeks to produce this episode, and yeah, I can feel that the production took a hit almost to the point of breakdown.

Cornucopia has been dealt with, but Sakiko is in grave danger of getting hit by lightning. Even worse, Ran's DoRed is on the verge of exposé, and thankfully Shu did a service to save Kinako out of danger. But Koki's the real danger of maintaining the KANAE System a.k.a Hazard Cast in total secrecy, with SARG being the cornerstone of attacks.

The shady Hajime is back, and he's here to help out 0th and Ran to support them hacking into the KANAE System with the Graffiti War being their cornerstone to exact their reasoning. And with that, the propaganda continues with the Shantytown government under Koki's inhumane father vs. Ran's DoRed in influence of the KANAE System and SARG overtaking people's lives, and Shu is caught in the flush that he evenutally has to choose a side, no longer being the 24th Ward's hero.

There's no turning back on the violence of Shantytown, and for Shu to learn about the entirety of the KANAE System from Sakiko this late, it's a moment of recluse and sorrow that the more Asumi beckons for help, the entire system degrades further, and they have no choice but to continue utilizing her brain for the future of Shantytown.

The whole system is broken, and so is the anime from trying to recover from production woes.

This is a kind of anime that love to make reference to real world (Cambridge Analytica and Brexit, to be specific) but doesn't have something new to say about it.

But I forgive every mistake the moment when I see Shuta naked!

Great episode! Shu saved Kinako... but his towel sort of fell down in the process xD.
Shu also learned about Asumi and her consciousness in the KANAE system...

Looking forward to the next episode!

Having the one-year time-skip coincide with when the show took an impromptu break of a recap episode and flashback episode, I found was actually a nice bit of unintentional integration. It did really feel like we left this cast for a while, before picking them back up later, since, well, we did.

Anyway, this was blatantly just setup for the last arc. Interested to see how it plays out, if my earlier comments of the show alternating between good and bad hold up, it should be a decent pair of episodes.
Well I for one already loved Lain.

"Good intentions can bring about as much destruction as an evil conqueror. Either way, the result is the same" pretty much what Tsuzuragawa and Gori are doing

but also

"No more terrible disaster could befall your people than for them to fall into the hands of a Hero"

Decent episode, now Shu also knows that it's Asumi's brain inside KANAE system. Only Ran is left to find out the truth now I guess.

Also the titty-gawa lmaooooooo, that got me good.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.
Feeling half happy, half sad.

Asumi's really in a shitty position of continuously experiencing traumatic events and not being able to find peace after dying because her dumb dad made that decision.
