Early streaming on Fuji TV's FOD and Crunchyroll prior to broadcast.

So this is Goro Taniguchi's newest mixed-media project...and when I see Polygon Pictures, it means crappy CGI, which here it feels like creativity in the most unnecessary manner. And considering that Classroom of the Elite director Hiroyuki Hashimoto and Cop Craft series composer Shouji Gatou is on this, I'm still wary of the overall product.

This seems like some dystopian AI future where it just drops directly into the plot without any explanation, and the demi-human girls (Martese, Equa and Ferres) called "Extractors" with furry Uila and AI assistant Alga are called to do clientele work to escort their clients's escape from a dystopian Japan separated by walls called Clusters.

Kinda meh OST to be honest, though someone will like the songs.

Honestly, I'm glad that the episode batch was released early to dispel this show quick and easy.

I thought this episode (or even both episodes rather) was perfectly fine, although the initial focus was clearly more on the character interactions and inherent silliness of the surrounding situations than on establishing the plot. Very much in episodic amusement territory at the moment.

I guess it's worth mentioning right out of the gate that Goro Taniguchi sn't directing nor writing the anime himself, despite the early publicity around his participation. Apparently he came up with the initial idea and will be making a movie at some point (presumably with other characters), but the current series isn't directly handled by him.

In any event, this particular series is not going to become the "new hotness" or anything, but there's nothing wrong with a lighthearted, fun romp to pass the time. KANLen09 mentioned Cop Craft, a show I haven seen myself, but the writing reminded me more about Shoji Gatou's work on Amagi Brilliant Park or the sillier episodes of Full Metal Panic.

I haven't seen too many shows animated by Polygon Pictures, for whatever reason, but I also don't tend to complain about middle of the road 3DCG. Unless it's objectively close to Ex-Arm or Berserk (2016) levels of bad, that isn't going to make me dislike a series. I think the character designs themselves are pretty decent.

While the visuals are "ugh", voice acting is actually phenomenal.
Glad to hear Maria Naganawa getting more roles.

You have been offered a choice to escape your current life, would you take it? If so, then the extractors will help you. Watching the first ep of Estab-life didn't really piqued my interest but I like the slime girl XD

Only watched the first episode so far, and let me say I was surprised. I haven't watched a 3D anime in a while so I was shocked at how pretty the characters were. For only the first episode though, I'd say that it's definitely going somewhere. Can't wait to see what rating it gets in the future!
Also LOVED the opening!

Oh yeah, 3d anime again, how am i not surprise at all...

Futuristic concept. Mindless battle, again. Clusters. Helping people to escape from their own home, because why not. But then again, its a 3d one. Not as bad as the great one, if you know what i mean, though. Still, this is actually a mixed bag. Kinda reminds me of Shikizakura, without classic super sentai costume, plus more of a beastfolks, and, slime. Yeah. I feel like i want to watch this more because of 'slime'.

Way better animation then I thought it would be. Are the main characters demons that take humans away or do they live in a scary world so they help to escape it? Interesting episode!

Seems like the girls have the main roles, while the wolf and robot is just side characters. Seeing that I wanted to watch for the wolf, I am kinda disappointed in that.

The first few minutes are such a fever dream, even for anime. Open on funeral with colorful hair and mouse ears. Enter hearse to find it is driven by a dog man dressed in leather. Drive to AI checkpoint where chaos explodes upon the coffin sneezing. Combat climaxes in girl exploding into slime.

I actually don't super mind the way this looks, but I really wish that more studios that do 3D animated anime would try and do things you can only do with 3D, like shading styles that would be really hard to do efficiently with 2D animation as an example, instead of just trying to mimic the look of 2D anime.

"Will you escape your current life if given a chance to do so?" is a pretty interesting idea. I believe this would be the theme of this series.

Yamada wanted to escape because he was bored and while he's allowed to take breaks, he is supposed to be teaching for the rest of his life. That makes me curious on what sort of a world this is. Also, I find it quite interesting that slime need Amino acids to use their liquefaction power. Decent worldbuilding so far.

A minor complaint; why aren't the girls wearing masks? Isn't that important? This could potentially be their downfall, y'know.

Also, the CGI is fine; it actually looks good.

And just so that I don't forget, "No funny business or I will give this guy a second asshole."

Alright, so from what I understand of the plot of this show, cities are split into domes of sorts, AI control the domes and you're not allowed to leave for some reason, you gotta do what you gotta do, lest you lose your social credit. Also, some AI overlords are stricter than others? Hence, these so-called "Extractors" are psuedo people-smugglers by hire. Also this world has magical creatures, slime lolis and dog men who go 'borf!'

Glad to see old mate started a new life in Akiba. Hey man, sometimes I've felt the same way. Just wanna die, but you fear death. You wanna just run away and start a new life. Taking action actually does take a lot of courage, because we can say every day of our lives we wanna run away, but how many of us actually take that next step and go for it? I guess that final question after the credits means a lot more than we think it does. I wonder if every episode will end with similar existential queries.

Also, looking at the forum I can already see the CG is putting people off. But I'll be honest, it's not the worst thing I've ever seen. The animation is still fluid enough to not hurt my eyes. The frame rate is still relatively okay. Work from SANZIGEN (Bang Dream, D4DJ) is worse, even though D4DJ was better.

Put it this way, at least it ain't Berserk.

Surprised, Polygon got the cg cleaner smoother def improved over the years.
Weird, outlandish fights that suit the scifi designs & weird names. Fake funeral escape with an unnamed client, such a strange way to start a show.
Mickeymouse-slime is hilarious, Wolfie fights cool but not much screentime yet, and that lovelive leader cheery & not annoying yet.
Student smugglers that give real escapism to clients stuck in society does feel like a unique premise. Likely episodic plot can get silly or go deeper with Nietzsche.

A downgrade from Drifting Dragons in terms of overall visual quality although this one has better character models. I have no clue what happened at the end, but we'll see. As for now, the character interactions and the voices are really good so I'll keep watching.

Just saw this

Seems like no one really watches this huh... very low discussion everywhere.

___ ___ ___

So... is this about uprising against segregation of Race behind walls from the AI that was created to preserve humanoids?

AKA, smuggling people out of sections and into other sections? (kinda like illegal immigrants traveling through country borders)

Cause apparently people are not allowed to leave their "appointed sections"

Hmmm...

___ ___ ___

Also, the end of episode 1... WTF was that "escape"... a fricking Zip-Line?

How is there a Zip Line that goes across the entire section of the city into another section.... and the only "guard" they have is on the base tower, while the end of the Zip Line is "free from guards"? (cause the teacher apparently arrived safe and is actually next to the previous girl that also got "extracted", meanwhile the sections doesn't communicate with each other cause no one knows about the extraction based on the TV news at the end of episode)

I never really join these discussions, but this show was so bad and left this initial bad taste in my mouth, i literally through up my hands at the end of the episode and said "screw it. I'm going to watch all of One Piece now". The cgi is trash, and the characters are probably the worst cast of characters I have ever had the displeasure of laying my eyes on. However I will say, it was a cool idea which is why I gave it a 2 instead of a 1. But the execution was so bad that I can see how the series could ever redeem itself.

I don't understand why people are complaining about the 3DCG. Imagine how terrible this show would look if they went with 2D animation. Cop Craft's action scenes were literal slideshows. I think 3D instead of 2D is a reasonable trade-off for actual animation during action scenes.

idk that i find this interesting

the animation is fine. i don't rate shows based on animation quality/cgi/etc. (i liked the cgi berserk anime more than the original!)

the SHOW is what matters. the story. the dialogue. the plot. the animation is tertiary

5/10 first episode. i'll probably put this on hold/drop

CGI looked mostly terrible, though the variable width "lineart" was kind of interesting to look at. Mostly I'm disappointed with the characters head-to-body proportions, as the girls all look like they have bobbleheads.

I like the premise of the main characters helping people to escape their unfulfilled lives for greener pastures. Seeing the teacher break down about his job kinda caught me off guard but I'm glad I stuck around watching long enough to get to that part.

For some reason Equa and Ferres' interactions are actually entertaining and cute to me. It's probably mostly because of the yuribait, but even though this relationship dynamic has been done to death it's still kinda charming to watch.
