The thread will be unlocked at around 00:33 JST This thread is now unlocked

Due to the extreme popularity of the show and the fact that for the previous season (and this season), many of the episodes had really early episode threads opened by various users, the episode threads for this show will only be made by mods until further notice.

Kinda ironic that once this very same group of individuals were fighting against these titans to save their very own ones but now teaming up with them to annihilate those very same people. Have to say though those ODM scenes were neatly animated, the ones with Floch and with Mikasa too. That Magath and Shadis sequence too felt strong. Props to Mappa bringing out the very best of this specific chapter.

Now it’s 1000 percent certain that they will wrap up this part on 130 as it was rumoured. Next episode two weeks later.

Damn...what a fucking episode. MAPPA really went off with this one, and it seems like they give Mikasa in particular a lot of love lol. She had like all of the best animated scenes, besides that one sequence with Floch getting ready to use the Thunder Spear. Too bad Floch was no match for Gabi's unstoppable aimbot, she's 3 for 3 now lol. We also got Falco transforming into the Jaw for the first time but clearly he doesn't know how to properly control it yet. And even Connie got a badass moment this week. Lastly, that was touching final scene between Shadis and Magath. RIP to those two.

Just one more episode, but I'm really looking forward to it, though we unfortunately have to wait an extra week.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

I feel like a lot of people are gonna say this episode was awesome simply because they've been conditioned to watch the garbage we've been getting so far from MAPPA. Sure, this episode had some good animation moments - but overall it was cheap.

Just because there were a few seconds with a cool Falco transformation, or a few OK Mikasa scenes, dosen't mean I'm going to ignore the horrendous thunder spear animations, random zoom ins, and the scenes where Annie and Reiner were using their arms to cover the scientists.

Also, they're definitely not gonna fit the ending into one episode. I'm assuming the last episode, seeing as it's being delayed by a week, will be 40 - 60 minutes long? Or they'll potentially announce an ending movie?

Also, because apparently some blind people watch this show, heres an example of terrible visual effects in S4:

Season 1 (worst of the first three seasons, btw)

"Amazing" S4 P2:

All hail King Floch, true Erwin successor.

This episode, if I have to describe it in one word, is a “Bloodbath”. Still feeling bad for Connie that he had to kill both of his comrades, thank god they made it more gruesome in the adaptation and Armin is not looking good at all :(

Man don’t know why but deep inside I’m still in disagreement when they form an alliance and indicates Isayama may be the imposter among us because from what can be tell they’ve not been in good terms in the past and it’s unexpected for them to be in good terms this fast but good thing for sure they’re moving up with some action packed

Annie and Reiner are both saviors in this episode while the others go forward and ensure each and every of them are safe. Jean, Mikasa, Connie, and the rest fight for their lives and I’m impressed by the effects of the blood flowing through + Falco’s Jaw Titan transformation looks pretty SICK HOLY. The sakuga here were pretty solid overall.

And ah yes FaZe Gabi is bAcK At iT aGaiN, from shooting Potato Girl, to Eren Jaeger, and now Chad Floch, bruh she never misses a single snipe shot LMAO, and in conclusion, this is where we all have to instant ban her for having an aimbot injected in her eyes but still, she takes the 🐐 because Chad Floch is finally dead, no more provocative side of his talky talky anymore

RIP SHADIS AND MAGATH, both the chad heroes who doesn’t deserve to die but had to face the reality, my heart is completely shattered when watching both of them pulling up the trigger and causing an explosion in the end 😭

Can you kill Eren? What an interesting way to end the credit for this episode.

Best episode up for this cour. I’m not mentally prepared for some tearsome I’d expect in the final episode of this but hopefully there’ll be a sequel announcement.

Quite the action fest this episode! Pretty sure they expanded it more than the manga and that's great to see. MAPPA definitely made Connie, Mikasa, Jean and Hange-san a lot more badass too. Incredible scenes and what domination, there! Mikasa covered in blood after blowing up some of the Yeagerists was quite something. On the other hand, Floch's attempt to nail a thunder spear in on the ship was praiseworthy.

Annie and Reiner though, gee that was some beating they were treated to. Definitely felt for them there. Respect to Keith-san and Magath-taichou to inhibit the movement of the Yeagerists. Honestly, this felt a little rushed just like the manga but it touching nonetheless. If only the world was different, these two could've made a pretty cool combo.

Good on Falco for changing the tides around when it mattered most, by the way. It's a pity that he obviously couldn't control himself the way he'd like to given it's his first try and whatnot but good cover from Pieck to ensure that nothing too bad resulted from it. Got to say though, some of the transformation scenes in this series is just gold!

Annie's losing her reason to fight after reality hits home. Totally understandable, honestly. Mikasa's on such a run, it's as if she could even kill Eren if need be!

I think there's not going to be a new episode next week, according to the NHK post which I've shared below. It's going to be tough to wait an extra 7 days but here's to hoping a banger of a finale awaits. Certainly curious to see if a movie in indeed in the plans to adapt the remaining small chunk of the story.

What an action-packed episode. Full of adrenaline and full of emotions at the end. And, once again, Shishido proved himself as one of the best AOT directors. He's just so god damn good. What a legend. Really good action in this episode. Falco's jaw titan was so good. Even his design was awesome. CG was so well implemented. Great episode, overall.

The ending moments of Theo Magath and Keith Shadis were emotional. RIP to both the legends. And, even the post-credits scene was emotional with Annie. I'm manifesting the final episode to be in the hands of none other than Hayashi and by the fact that nothing has been shown about the final episode other than the flashback scene. I think it is him. Gonna wait and will have to see when the finale comes out. Not next week tho...

One of the better produced episode this season. Good sakuga for the most part with decent cuts, but it's a shame that there's absolutely 0 tension during the fights. The outcome is evident when the yeagerists are all treated like fodder and written to have 0 personality. They can't even manage to hurt or kill a single person during all that chaos. But I guess we're suppose to be hyped and cheer for Mikasa slaughtering them and going over the top when she's executing them while Marley's theme is playing in the background? Nonsense.

Floch is the true MVP. Having to deal with incompetent followers while fighting against plot armored super humans.

This was one HELL of a Episode, we got to see Falco's Jaw titan which was freaking sick and design is very special. Mikasa's really driving insane and Floch was looking really cool while fighting Pieck.

Hands Down, MAPPA really delivered masterpiece episode this week.

Jeez, Floch, what a man you are!

To think that you were a coward crybaby back then compared to you now facing Hange, shifters, even Mikasa and managed to almost land a blow with the thunder spears(if not because hax Gabi lol damn). You earn my fucking respect, i must say you atleast show your determination highly for whatever thing you try to achieve. IT'S SO FUCKING BADASS MAN.

Speaking Floch aside, Falco titan looks so good, it's 2D as far i saw it. But lol he's getting his own titan out of control, and of course Reiner being almost eaten by him is completely "acceptable" lol.

RIP Keith and Magath, by the time Keith is no longer being a bystander, it was a moment for him to face his death, goddamnit, it's such a waste, i feel similar feeling like i lost Pixis back then D:

And anyway, it seems we indeed stopping at 130. Also anyway again, 10/10 episode, atleast Floch scenes arent dissapointing.

Flame me if you must but this was BY FAR the best action based attack on titan episode yet. 128 and 129 always felt kinda boring, almost like filler. But god damn MAPPA elevated the source material for oblivion. RIP any EHs watching mikasa go off

Dramatic beginning and ending showing their respective resolve: Connie killing his friends and Keith and Magath sacrificing themselves.

WOW! Mikasa's battle scenes are always top-notch. She's such a badass assassin!

Everything left can't be adopted in the last episode. We're definitely going to get either a movie or a Part 3.

Solid episode when you considering the amount of emotions and action poured into this one. It goes to show the desperate attempt for humanity to stop the Rumbling or risk the world being destroyed.

Meanwhile, I'm pretty impressed by the overall chereography of this episode. Glad to also see more of Keith!

Holy shit, now that definitely was one of the better-animated aot episode.
Best in season 4 fs, and better than 'many' episodes of season 1-3 as well
Photography was pretty bad in some scenes,ig that's my only complaint,
Overall very great episode.
Now even with all that sakuga and action scene the best part was still Magath and Keith death scene, the new(?)ost was phenomenal in that scene

now we have to wait for 2 weeks

This thread has been cleaned.

This thread is just about the episode. It isn't a place to argue about which studio is better. There are plenty of other places you can do that, including profile comments and PMs. Debating it here just bogs down the thread with off-topic posts which normally just result in rule violations. So please refrain from doing so in this thread any further.

This episode went crazy with animation and fight scenes. It was more of a style over substance type bs. You have mikasa killing yeagerists in the most creative way possible and its a total bloodbath. I actually started cheering for yeagerist and wanted them to win because the alliance looked more like evil villains than heroes to me (i know the morality is grey but this one made alliance seem like wholly black). Characters start getting OP, even more OP than Levi. Falco's transformation problem got solved very quickly making it feel cheap.
But the production value went absolute bonkers
Overall a 7/10 episode.

They really did change the vibe Floch gives in the anime compared to manga, where he came around as a coward. At this point with all of the changes made, he's definitely competent, can't call him a clown anymore. It's just the fact that they made him so competent kind of goes against what Kiyomi did to him in the previous episode, if they were going for this they probably should have removed that scene. It's more of a nitpick though.

What the hell was that? I can't really believe how well-animated this episode was actually...
I couldn't believe Mappa could reach this level actually, this is such a great addition to the entire scenes of 3DMG sakuga scenes in AoT...

About this scene with Mikasa....
Yeah it was really so well-animated but... Was it necessary to blow this thunder spear after already killing them? Sounds like an overkill to me. They are supposed to be in a situation where they are compelled to kill their comrades to save themselves. But at this point, it seems like Mikasa was enjoying what she was doing. Like... Why? Why depict her in such a psychopathic manner?!!!!! Is this supposed to make us love her or hate her?

Floch's fight scenes were awesome. MAPPA sure loves Flock for some damn reason. Their best ep since Rumbling. Quite impressed by the choreography.

I did find it a bit strange how fodder-like the Yeagerists were tho I suppose I will chalk that to a difference in experience. They should have played a sadder theme imo.

On another note, Falco transformed for the first time tho its fallout was solved a bit too quickly imo. And Annie is tired of fighting. Which makes sense considering she has lost her source of hope now.

This episode was nicely action packed. As much as I enjoyed it. I was sadden by it. I mean these guys are their comrades and they are killing each other because of their different viewpoints. One wants genocide to happen to protect their home and island. The other wants the genocide to stop because it is unethical. So yeah. As nice and action packed in this episode. It is still sad.

It makes sense for Reiner and Annie to betray the Eldians and take participate in their genocide since they were Marlyians, but characters like Armin, Connie, and Mikasa doing a complete 180 and killing their friends so they can join in on the Eldian genocide is completely out of character.

The characterization in this season has been so inconsistent with the other seasons, and now it's very poorly written. It seems like the Author was in a rush to get this series over with at this point.

This episode was great! The fight scenes were excellently animated and Keith and Theo's death scene was nicely executed as well with the music ;c This episode also showed how committed Mikasa and the others were about saving humanity, it was nice that they got used to killing people in the earlier seasons, but it still took a lot of resolve to kill their own comrades.
