Hahaha, we were trolled SO hard! Tomoe is not really Lupin's mother, but rather more of a mentor, "like a mother". I should have seen that coming. While they might pull a double troll and say that she really is his mother later down the road, I kind of prefer if Lupin's ancestry remained unclear.

The storyboarding was fantastic this episode. Every scene felt alive with the constantly moving animation. And when it came out to the action, everything was gripping with the constant one-upping power play between Lupin and Mercedez. This episode kept me guessing the entire time, which is something I love. It says a lot that they can still surprise myself and others with who is actually who they look like and who is just wearing a disguise. I completely fell for a couple of them this episode.

Mattea cemented herself this episode as one of my favorite "new female of the arc" characters. Hopefully she has more to do in future episodes.

I thought the multiple Mercedez doppelgangers were the usual Lupin style disguises at first, and then it was mentioned that everyone just liked dressing up as her, so I figured they were just styling themselves to look alike, but then it was revealed to be the usual Lupin style disguises after all, so that was fun. Mercedez ended up saying she was a student of Tomoe as well, so there's some very interesting things going on behind the scenes. Lupin saw Tomoe die, but is she really dead? That seems to be the big mystery of this arc. And I am loving every second of it.

There is just so much to unpack with this episode.

The new ED, Bitter Rain by Sakura Fujiwara, was released this past week, with the full soundtrack to release on January 26, 2022!

This might not be my favorite ED in the franchise, but I really do love it's tone. The first ED of the season was perhaps the most jolly song in Lupin's history, and this was perhaps the most somber. So the sharp contrast is really nice.

The next episode seems like it will be a standalone episode involving Jigen again. So that should be nice.

This is probably the most similar thing to an origin story we have ever had about Lupin.

The new ED fits the series a lot better.

Great episode, but I don't understand how could they drive three tanks into a Spanish city.

I like how part 6 went from having my least favourite story out of the newer series to having what's currently my favourite. This is super interesting!

Another solid episode. Really liked the scene where they attacked the bank. Nice action in that one. And the Jigen, Goemon, and Lupin scenes were good too.

This two piece of episodes have been my favorite of the season. I hope they nail the Tomoe reveal, whenever they get back to it. This season is a lot like part 4, but if we get more great episodes like these, part 6 will take my number 2 Lupin spot for sure!

I should have expected that she isn't really his mother, though it's still mysterious overall, Lupin did great

This was even more intriguing than last week, setting up a larger story. It's definitely more interesting than the first arc was, and the execution was perfect, very much in the Lupin vein but still unpredictable. Deceptions all around. And when Lupin commented that Mattea was stronger than she seemed, I expected her to be a part of some deception scheme as well.
