Have I watched a mediocre amount of Anime

So I’ve been watching this foreign delicacy of animation for 5 years now and I’ve only watched roughly about 130 anime. Which makes me question if that’s a low amount for the years I’ve gone through and if so… I mean definitely so how many should I be at this point?

Honestly? I don't think that's a bad number at all. Now I've been watching anime for about the same amount of time as you, but I don't really judge that much on number. But the fact that you're over a hundred in itself is a good number.

Everyone watches at their own pace, and the only reason why my episode count is as high as is it is because of all the Pokemon I've seen (1000+ episodes) starting from when I was 13. It was a time when I had time on my hands to binge 15-18 episodes a day. But now, even as a highschool graduate who doesn't even work yet, I only watch maybe 5-8 episodes of anime in one day. Other times, movies. And then there are days when I don't feel like watching any.

To me, your count of shows is definitely average, especially with the KINDS of anime you've watched. But if your still worried about your number of shows watched, then you could always watch movies and 12 episodes shows that you can complete faster than, lets say, Saitama or Bleach.

To get you started, shorter shows that you could check out are Grand Blue, Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi, Blue Period, Danganronpa, The World Ends With You, Horimiya, Toilet Bound Hanako Kun, Sk8 the Infinity, The God of Highschool, and Uramichi Oniisan.

Everyone watches at their own pace in my opinion, I don't think enjoying anime should be rushed and I get that it's hard to watch consistently(speaking from experience)

However, If I had to give you a straight and plain answer, I'd say 300 short 12-24 episode anime or 150 short 12-24 episode anime paired with 3 Longer 300+ episode anime is a good amount for 4-5 years of anime experience.

Disclaimer: If you intend on binging a ton of shows just know that you probably wont remember most of them well and I personally don't think you should binge a billion shows at once. Either way you do you.
