Mari got a lot of more screen time than I had expected.

Compared to the previous episode, this one was more relaxing with less action or tense moments. Seems they're trying to get the audience more used to their society. Mari can also be a bit of an emotional person. I wonder if this show plans to focus on the cast individually or a bigger plot as a whole.

Alright, looks like it's back again, they were playing in the park that time, I think this color selection is pretty good, I like it. Maybe the character design, I mean that hair colors, xD. Is that the same doggy involved in the incident in the previous episode? I think the doggy is so selfish, the house facilities and the food is quite sumptuous for a doggy. I wonder if the story will revolve around a gourmet festival this time "3rd Gourmand Festival 2021". It also shows the viewpoint of each family, there are kawaii mama-san and papa-san... Besides that, there is another interesting thing, does the osanajimi type always have a house next door? I mean that bedroom window, I think events in anime are always like this xD. So they did join the tech club in high school, I thought it was just a coincidence but they are really good at it. Uwooo sailor fuku kawaii.

Making everyone gather, is that Asumi jobs? Idk. Yabusame is working behind the scenes at GuruFest to gain ground in the shopping district. I'm still confused whether the pink haired one is a boy or a girl, lol. If you look at uniform then...It's a tragedy if the fire was the result of trying to prevent the demolition of the school building. Is this the beginning of a flashback that happened in the previous episode? They turned an entire school building into full of art. Even though there was a fire going on, why didn't someone call the fire department, huh?

WTF was that cliffhanger, AAAAAAAAAA

Bruh now they are playing with our feelings by showing us the flashbakcks of Asumi chan, showing us how she was the most jolly person of the group and how everyone liked her, just trying to hurt us by making us feel more for a dead character.

Well anyway this episode was really enjyoable too, we see lots of backstories of our characters in this episode and what lead to them becoming the persons they are today. We also find out that Asumi was stuck in the builidng just because she was trying to save the people trapped inside. There wasn't any action in this episode but still the episode was entertaining.

The OP and ED are both bangers, their visuals are really pretty.

Sakuragi is pretty cute. But Tsuzuragawa is mommy, I want her to step on me.

I really like the RGB name lol, perfectly describes our main trio.

Looking forward to next episode.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.

Flashback episode. Asumi was cute. Mari looks traumatized, but why it felt like Mari is kinda sus. Oh no. Please, no. lol

Basically, they're dealing with societal issues. And that ending! Sec is powering up something! This is really fascinating.

Great episode! More Mari this episode which was nice.
We also got to see some flashbacks of Asumi who seemed to be a good friend to RGB in general and we also saw her run into that burning building...

Looking forward to the next episode!

Once again, the OP and ED are just fantastic. The episode was mostly made of flashbacks, some fun moments with Asumi. We got to know that she's a cheerful and popular girl. The center of the group who made everyone smile and the ''founder'' of RGB. This gives off Siesta vibes. A pretty relaxing episode but seems like something big will happen on the day of the festival.

The last 12 seconds of the episode shows the secretary in the future-like place. Probably where Asumi is kept (her brain ig?)..

Last week's hour-long premiere episode was a lot to take in, so we go back to the flashbacks between the RGB boys and the girls Mari and Asumi.

The present day of the daily drive of the people living in the 24th Ward, but the RGB boys are slowly figuring out Asumi's bizarre phone call of the future seen and changed, that somes stranger spoofed her number and did the transmission.

So many conversations, and I feel like I'm losing connections or something between the cast of characters, or should I pay more attention to what's happening now to deduce the future going forward, because it's all linked to the opening minutes of the premiere that changed lives forever: Asumi sacrificing her life to save people, and Mari being regretful that she left Asumi alone, and facing the RGB boys on her own.

Oh well, this is yet intriguing as the mystery builds up post-events.

Pretty boring, honestly. After going from a high-stakes, action-packed, strategic plot that threw us into the show, we get this. I know we needed to learn more about Asumi and the main trio's backstory, but that really cut down on the show's momentum.

After a nice episode last week, everything seems to cool down completely. We did get some flashbacks when Asumi was still alive. And there seems to be some stakes since Mari's family restaurant and their neighborhood are at risk of the Mafia that wants to take the place down. And while we're at it, there's a gourmet festival, what can get better than that?

I'm trying to keep my head up for this anime, but it somehow became sluggish in a sudden, and I hope that last bit at the end has something to twist our interest, because there's not enough stimulation happening for us.

We could've jumped straight into fighting tragedies, super heroism, hunting for the truth behind the ghost, so on and so forth. Instead, they decided that what we really needed was a series of flashbacks explaining that the dead girl was their friend. The red head went around on a thank you tour to each of the colored ninnies, triggering flashbacks for each of them about how the dead girl was… uh… supportive? The perfect flawless girl to have been stuffed in a fridge and have been sacrificed to the plot contrivance god? An entire episode dedicated just to characters sitting around thinking about the past for no real reason.

It was fine to just assume that we understood that she was important to them from the first episode. You know, because they were friends and/or family. If you really need to add specifics for some plot reason, start with the plot. Get things moving first. This is technically the third episode, and two of them have been spent just spinning its wheels, waiting for something to happen. Why? What is this adding? What does this develop? What does this change that we didn't already know?

Should I drop or wait a bit more and drop after that? Or will this be better? There's nothing catchy in this show, I dislike the characters, and the story is boring so far. What to do. To do. To. Do.

Not gonna lie everyone in their childhood are all very cute! Okonomiyaki always makes me starve everytime it appears but definitely not with an overload of mayonnaise. Honestly Hana is such an interesting character and the fact she's voiced by Hayasaka's VA makes her character look somewhat a great addition. The Grand Prix is an interesting event. I realized that the overall episode is just some slice of life and there are so many characters doing their own business and Mari, wtf how did you parkour to Shuuta's room that flexible. That phone call from Asumi is sure pretty unusual to hear especially seeing her dead physically and there's no story behind how she turned into some AI getting manipulated or something which I hope will get animated soon or otherwise the story is just fucked up weird if they just relax out of Asumi's case.

Ooh, some backstory to where the three boys met during middle-high school and Asumi asking for Shuuta to help being the goalkeeper is a daunting task but Shuuta manages to pull it up a notch. Afterwards, I found something really interesting about Asumi's own trait. Back then Asumi cheered up Ran in school which leaves Ran making a design of Asumi and it does look pretty spectacular from the naked eye, well expected Ran is creative with his designing skills and meanwhile, when Kouki was on the deed when passing out the posters, Asumi came and invited people to join the festival. From all of these points, I realized the bright side of Asumi back when she was alive, leaving the RGB and the rest of the people reminiscing her charm for that. The black Okonomiyaki though looks terrifyingly scary but my brain left the chat when Asumi was talking about making graffiti in their own school but I guess it does deliver some diverse creativity and various colors does also represent good hospitality and people are not one to judge quick to each other or you can refer to it as equality. The school fire is surely a bit traumatizing for Mari but better or nothing is to move forward. I love the ED, Yuma, Ishikawa and Enoki are favorite VAs from different animes but them singing here is very chill and also warm, visually would've been interesting if the background were more conveying their own personalities but other than that, it's nice how each of them are singing while their respective characters are walking :P. Overall a great episode, a slow relaxing life is a nice way to tone this series from some seriousness and hopefully the next episode focuses on action solely.

Yo, that ED was a straight up banger, and I love their group name lmao, "255.255.255."

This episode was just full of pain for Mari though. Also a more exposition heavy episode with the backstories and stuff, and I liked it to be honest. There's a lot of questions to be answered, but the biggest question right now is, who burned the school down? Looking forward to the next episode. So far, so good, episode definitely is not as better produced as the first episode, but it's still holding up.

This was . . . very bad.

The OP and ED were good, which is nice. And that was the only good thing here.

Asumi flashbacks were too unnatural. Her importance felt too forced. She didn't feel special at all. If she were really such an energetic ray of sunshine who was close to everyone, she could have maybe shown more physical contact like by touching someone's shoulder encouragingly or smacking someone's arm playfully. And her dialogues could have been more personal, instead of being so to-the-point.

Ah yes, the dialogues. They were so unnatural. Everyone says what is needed in the scene. The words have no character or life. They're just part of a stiff plot.

The character bonds don't feel real. No one has any chemistry with each other. And so, I can't feel any sense of loss for Asumi's death, or any sense of joy when everyone is together.

Eh. Nothing special.

I'm glad we saw more of Asumi, but the way it was done was rather lackluster. I was often confused about still being in a flashback or in present time, which made me less focused on what was actually happening.

Also, I don't trust that teacher. He seems too nice...

The first episode was ok enough for me to watch the 2nd episode but continuing will depend on the 3rd episode. This second episode was a mess. The skipping around to different time periods is poorly done and confusing. Everything with Asami was forced; they obviously really really really want us to like her and be sad that she is dead (or might be, who knows at this point). Apparently she's Super Special Awesome which is fine if that's shown... but it's not. The yabusame introduction was a complete eyeroll. Mari is less likeable in this episode since a) she somehow doesn't get that SHE ALMOST DIED because of her stupid dog and b) she obviously feels inferior to the (possibly dead) Asami. Right now she's just "plucky girl who loves to make okonomiyaki but really just wants a boyfriend" which is boring af. And what's up with that teacher? Is he really just nice guy teacher or dodgy? The dialogue is so inconsistent and random which adds to the mess this show is after only 2 episodes.

Original anime are seldom really good and this is another unfortunate example.

It's still fine, however maybe a tad bit convoluted, making it kind of hard for me to get invested. Like by no means are our characters flat, or the plot dull, but I just don't really... care. We're getting a lot thrown at us right now, hopefully it'll smooth out as we go along. I guess with an anime-original there's more weight on the first episodes to draw an audience in, whereas an adaption has the manga as the source of pre-existing hype. Idk about you, but for me it's not really working yet. It's okay though, we have Survive Said The Prophet which will be enough to carry the show for now.

While I'm always down for episodes that end relatively calmly, like without a bang, without some cheap cliff-hanger to coerce you into watching the next episode, this one kind of felt like it originally was supposed to be a movie- but then was just roughly chopped up into episode-length portions.

Also ngl, it's only the 2nd episode but I'm already getting kind of sick of hearing the name "Asumi". Everyone's obsessed with Asumi, Asumi this, Asumi that, Asumi Asumi Asumi. And they keep throwing flashback after flashback of her at us, because she pretty much is the main focus of this show and we've got to care about her of course! Although deadass what I think they should've done is just dedicate an entire episode or two of her in the beginning while she was still alive, and THEN kill her off afterwards. Personally I'd probably care about the whole situation a lot more.

I don't want to hate on it too much especially when we're still in the first couple episodes, I'm just kind of worried we're going to get another wonder egg scenario. It's still showing promise, but the light isn't all that strong. Not going to drop this, will watch it all the way through, but I hope that by the end it will be worth it.

This episode wasn't so good as the first one.

I would rather if they had developed the affection everyone has for Asumi in a different and more intimate way so I could also come to like her. The way it was done was shallow and forced. This episode was all about they trying to convince us to like a character and failing. So that was it.

I still don’t know what its identity is. To put frankly, it feels bland. I feel little to nothing while watching, no love nor hate. I liked the part where the green haired kid took the bug out of his bag and dropped it into the water naturally. But aside from that, nothing really stood out.

It somehow kinda seems like Asumi and Mari is having a Cosette and Anna thing going on.

That RGB past was just a child's thing it's just ridiculous to see them take it so seriously even as adults.

It was a little boring episode cuz it was just flashbacks about Asumi.
I hope they get another call to see a new glimpse of another accident of the future.

As a follow up to watching the series with a friend of mine, the background build up of the characters is one of the strongest elements of the series I feel like. It also seems to fall into a pattern of information > action > information, if you count the first episode as two and then put this into the format.
